Samuel López is one of our coaches, co-founder of the Juan Carlos Ferrero - Equelite Sport Academy and, nowadays, the Nicolás Almagro tennis coach.

He is the one in charge of the JC Ferrero's trainings and schedule next to Antonio Martínez Cascales, one of the best Spanish coaches with loads of distinctions from the Spanish Royal Federation, Proffesional Tennis Registration, etc.

In addition, Samuel uses to manage a lot of tournaments. For example, in April 2012 he is the director of the best ITF tournament in Spain which is played at Equelite -Grade 2- which is problably becoming Grade 1 for 2013. Also, the Spanish National Championship, the Equelite Tennis tour in the Valencia Open and Andalucía zone, etc.

Right now, he is part of the technical staff of the federation and one of the teachers in charge of the formation of new coaches.

Head coach of Equelite for the last 12 years and training with lots of professional players like JC Ferrero, Nico, David Ferrer, María Sharapova, Justin Henin, etc.

Tomas Berdych Won't Shake Nicolas Almagro's Hand (Australian Open 2012)

No. 7 seed, Tomas Berdych faced a tough Nicloas Almagro who is very solid from the baseline.

Nicolas Almagro started the year on a high with a good performance at the Chennai Open. He then lost in the quarter-finals at Heineken Open. His Australian Open campaign has been a bumpy one with one four set and one five set match already in his bag. He would be focusing on this match like he did in his previous one where he beat Stanislas Wawrinka in straight sets. A victory over Berdych would do him no harm as he send a strong message to his next opponent.

This will be their seventh meeting with the Czech leading 4-2.

Despite winning, Berdych refused to shake Almagro's hand after the match. At 5-5, 0-30, Almagro had drilled Berdych in the shoulder with a forehand as Berdych stood almost right on top of the net. The Spaniard tried to apologize but Berdych would have none of it. As a result, the Czech was booed ferociously by the crowd throughout his post-match interview.

How to choose tennis academy?

Choose the program

First, you need todecide the program and how long you wantto send a player to the tennis academy.

The main two types of programs are the summer camp and professional program (compitition pro, academy training).

Summer tennis camp - a program for children from 6 to 16 years old in summer. Its better to start searching camps in March - April the latest, to be able to get all details, information aboutthe academy and a visa (if required), and book tickets. In summer, the price ofair tickets is increased. Many of the Academy will organize the camp, not onlyin the summer, but during the school holidays. If your child has a good tennislevel, I would suggest choose a professional program for thesummer period.

Professional program - for any period of staying the whole year. Its always possibillity forjoining groups any time duringthe year. I wont advice to come just for one week. A player will need time toadapt after the flight and get used to the training process and a new place.A minimum 2 weeks. To evaluate theprocess of the traininig and understand the whole idea you should plan your trip for 1-3 months, then you can make right decision.

If you would like to go to academy with a kid, you should inform theacademy. Some academies dont approve parents in thetraining process of the kid.

Choose the country

The basic countries, where are all the players are going fortraining, Europe (Spain, France, Italy) and USA, there are also plenty academies in Czech Republic, Emirates, Asia and Australia.

Pay attention to accomidation and meals for theplayer

Unfortanately, not all academies can provide accomidation inthe academy. Most academies provide homestay (under 18 age) or apartments (from18 age), or hotels. Situation with meal is more easier in all academies. Theyhave cafes and restaurants inside.

What academy is right for you?

There are 2 types of academies:

Popular big commercial academies
Small unknown clubs

Unfortunately, many academies areusing the names of famous tennis players. No need to rely on a player name. Tennis bussiness is noteasy to create in a few years. Create a database, find an experienced coach, who can manage theprocess of training, good fitness coach, as well as people who are associatedwith tennis and understand a lot about tennis.

Somesmall clubs can also compete with other great academies. Plus, a small numberof players and low prices for training, but the clubs have a problem with thevisa in the long term.

Choosethe academy with the experience more then one year.

Check the number of players in the program. The morepeople, the less attention the player will get.

Read the reviews

Try to get more information, who trains at the academy, if you play tournaments, you can meet coaches from the academies, watch how they comunicate with players, ask questions about their academy.

Reviews can help to get an idea of the academy, but dont believe them for 100%. Some reviews, that I read about academies, are far away from reality.

Is it worth to go to the academy?

Yes, as the academy helps to understand the system of training, tennis player's lifestyle, each contry has different vision of teaching tennis.

Summer camp 2011 - we were full in July and got maximum players

Hey Everyone!!!

Today its big day for Spain!!! Congratulation Spanish armada for your win in Davis cup final vs Argentina. Red Bulls showed great fight, strong mentality. I enjoyed watching Del Potro hitting strong massive shots. But Nadal was playing on one shot better and more aggressive.All matches were pretty impressive: different game styles and tactics from each players. Ones again Spanish school shows big level in tennis these days. I noticed Spanish tennis is improving really fast. Getting more solid in every shot these days. What we are going to see in 2012? Juan Carlos Ferrero has already built a lasting legacy on and off the court, but following his resurgence during this year’s Golden Swing, the 30-year-old Spaniard is intent on a return to the Top 10.
Juan Carlos Ferrero has well-articulated responses for everything, but ask the amiable and unfailingly polite Spaniard what accomplishment he’s most proud of, and for once he’s unable to come up with an answer.
“I don’t know. I have to think this,” he says with a laugh. “Can we pass on this one?”
It’s a fitting reaction from a man who’s accomplished more than one could even imagine achieving in a lifetime, yet continues to dream big.
If there were ever a how-to guide on building a lasting legacy by the age of 30, Juan Carlos Ferrero would be the quintessential player to profile.
“I try to be successful in all things I do,” says Ferrero. “I think it’s very important in life, when you’re working so hard with anything, you want to have something back. I think it’s normal.”
His success on the tennis court may have paved the way for his off-court endeavours, but his academy, hotel and tournament – collaborations with long-time coach Antonio Martinez Cascales – are each thriving in their own right, delivered with the Ferrero signature of class.

“It’s always important the quality that you want to do it in all things”

Today, the Equelite-Juan Carlos Ferrero in Villena is a high profile training base attracting promising young talents and pros alike. “This is a stand alone academy and is probably the nicest one I have been to,” wrote Andy Murray’s mother Judy upon a visit.
Hotel Ferrero, a cottage in nearby Bocairente refurbished into a 12-suite luxury lodging, is poised for Michelin star status and landed on the Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List upon its grand opening in July 2007.
The Valencia Open, originally a modest clay court tournament held in the spring, has transformed into an elite ATP World Tour 500 hard court tournament held at one of the most stunning venues on the circuit, the Agora in the City of Arts and Sciences.
“I think it’s always important the quality that you want to do it in all things,” Ferrero explains, “not only in tennis or investments.”
David Ferrer, a part-owner of the Valencia Open 500, says: “He pays attention to all the details in his businesses, and with the help of his coach Toni Cascales, they are a great team.”
It seems almost impossible to think that a professional tennis player has time to juggle these ventures in between training and travel, but Ferrero asserts, “It’s not difficult. You have time to manage this, and I have a lot of people that are working on all of this. They have my confidence in all these works. I think a tennis career is very short and you have to do something for the future. I think my investment is going very well, having all these things. We will see what I’m going to do next.”
But for now, Ferrero’s main goal is a return to the top echelon of the tennis ladder.

“He's dedicated to his tennis at the moment,” says Cascales. “We've tried to put him into some other businesses with a view to life after tennis. But at the moment he's totally focused on his tennis, although he does like to help out young players in the academy who want to work, learn and improve.”
A fortune-teller predicted that 2003 would be Ferrero’s year. Manned with that certainty, the player whom the Spanish media had already anointed king went out and seized his opportunities.
In a five-month span, he fulfilled a childhood dream of winning Roland Garros, defeated Andre Agassi in the US Open semi-finals to claim the World No. 1 ranking, and proved that a Spaniard had the ability to excel on hard courts as he reached the US Open final.
But with the spectacular highs of 2003 came the challenge in maintaining that same level of success. With a variety of maladies thrown into the mix in the years to follow – including a bout with chicken pox just months after reaching World No. 1 – Ferrero’s self-belief took a hit.
“When you get injured a lot, you go to the court and you go with no confidence because you're injured a lot and you're more worried about the injury you're going to have, but that's tennis,” Ferrero told the press in Canada last year. “It's quite tough to play like this.”
Although Ferrero posted solid results – reaching a final each year, the semi-finals at the 2004 Australian Open and the quarter-finals in 2007 at Wimbledon – he was unable to win a title.
“It was a difficult time for a player who had been No. 1 and won many important tournaments,” says Cascales. “Tennis is an individual sport and if things in your life are not quite right, whether it be physically or mentally, it's hard to perform at 100 percent.”
In the wake of Marat Safin’s announced retirement last season, rumours circulated that Ferrero – who had dropped outside the Top 100 of the South African Airways ATP Rankings for the first time since 1999 – would soon be following in the former World No. 1’s footsteps.
And then relief came in April 2009 at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca, where Ferrero had reached the semi-finals on his ATP World Tour debut 10 years earlier. After 110 tournaments without lifting a trophy, he finally ended the title-drought.
“That title helped me a lot,” admits Ferrero. “After that I take the confidence with me again. I could play with no stress.”
But Casablanca was just a preface to Ferrero’s long-awaited resurgence. In a near perfect three-week stretch during the 2010 Latin American ‘Golden Swing’, the Spaniard appeared invincible once again. “It’s difficult to feel like this, but of course I felt like I was playing very well and the opponent has to play better than me to beat me,” he says. “In that moment it was difficult to play better than me because I was playing 100 percent.”

Two days after celebrating his 30th birthday, he contested his 30th ATP World Tour final and was in devastating form as he dropped just one game against Poland’s Lukasz Kubot at the Brasil Open in Costa do Sauipe.
He rallied past top-seeded countryman Ferrer the following week at the Copa Telmex in Buenos Aires to win back-to-back titles for the first time since 2001, and afterwards stated: “My goal is to get back to the Top 10. This victory makes me believe in this goal.”
His exceptional clay run continued at the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Acapulco as the Spaniard won his 14th straight match – the second-longest winning streak of his career. Though he lost to Ferrer in the final, his performance in South America elevated Ferrero to No. 14 in the South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings.
Ferrero, who thrived on self-belief during his 2003 season, stresses the importance of the results – “The South American tournaments gave me a lot of confidence to get going, keep working pretty hard as I was doing it before” – and pinpoints his mental work as an integral part of his success. “In the past during my career I was very focused on the results of the match,” he says. “Now I’m working on trying to play all points at the same level and it doesn’t matter the score you have in front.”
Mentally, Ferrero may be prepared, but his physical condition will be the biggest question mark heading into Roland Garros. The Spaniard has struggled with a knee injury since the Abierto Mexicano Telcel final, and recorded modest results on the transition to European clay. Though he reached the quarter-finals at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, posting an upset over World No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the process, he made early exits at the Barcelona Open BancSabadell, the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome and then withdrew from the Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open.
But the silver lining may be that Ferrero’s performance in February showed that the 30 year old still has what it takes be a true contender. “I don't see his game being that different [from 2003] especially when he's playing well, like when he played in Buenos Aires and Acapulco this year,” Cascales says. “He's playing at the same level, but maybe what is sometimes missing is a bit of consistency.
“I hope he can arrive well in Roland Garros physically and playing good tennis. I can see him getting through quite a few rounds at Roland Garros but you have to take it one match at a time.”
Ferrero reached the semi-finals on his first two visits to Roland Garros, the final the following year and hoisted the Coupe des Mousquetaires on his fourth try. Since then he hasn’t managed to advance beyond the third round, but should fitness be in his favour, this may be his chance to reclaim glory.
Ferrer has every faith in his countryman: “He's one of the best players in history on clay… I think he can win Roland Garros again. Nadal and Federer will be there but Juan Carlos will be right there behind them. Why not?”
For a man who has met with success in each of his endeavours, anything is possible.
Ferrero’s tennis career was nearly derailed before it began, devastated at the age of 16 by the loss of his mother to cancer, but he made a decision to honour her memory by continuing on with the sport.

“He’s an even better person than he is a player, which is very difficult”

His choice has given his family, friends and all of Valencia many different reasons to be proud.
“From a tennis point of view, the fact that he's been No. 1 in the world, more than Grand Slam, Davis Cup, Masters [1000] wins,” Cascales says. “It's very difficult to be No. 1 in the world. Many great players haven't achieved that. As a person, I'm proud of his loyalty.”
Ferrer points to the quality of his character. “He’s an even better person than he is a player, which is very difficult. He's very humble, a great friend, and very generous.”
As for Ferrero himself? He concludes, “I’m very proud of all the things I’ve done.”

Before to send a child to the summer stage, parents have a lot of questions, the main of them, I would like to answer here.

What is the summer stage in JC Ferrero Tennis Academy?

Summer Stage is a program in vacation period that offers the opportunity of knows the real essence of professional training to players of the whole world and all kinds of levels. In words of a player of the Stage of last year, "it is a made dream reality".

Is there transportation to and from the airport?

Yes, of course. The Academy is able to drive anyone to or from Alicante Airport, the Bus Station in Alicante or the Railway Station in Villena from 10 AM to 6 PM. But if the flight or bus doesn’t arrive or depart during the above periods, the Academy send their own taxis.

How many hours of tennis and physics are there every day?

Approximately, 4 hours of tennis and 2 of physical, with the option of the particular classes for whom he wishes them.

Will a child practice in a group or individual? How many kids are in the group?

These hours that I have said before they are all in group, of there that exist the particular classes. But, there are maximum 4 players for group and court.

Who will be working with a child?

Undoubtedly, coaches of first category with years of experience. Besides a team of physical coaches, physiotherapists, etc.

Will a child be in an appropriate age-level group?

Always. The first day we do a few tests to know the level of all players. And in the evening groups are already definite.

How long has staff been there?

The team is in the habit of changing a bit every year with the aim to be better. But it is going to be the fourth year consecutive by this generation. Some of them have been professional players before.

Who will look after the child when he/she is outside the court? Can he/she leave the academy alone?

Group leaders are the persons responsible for players during their free time after practice and until they go to bed. Their duties consist in organizing activities in groups according to the age and tastes of each player. Their mission is to create a happy atmosphere among the players and to ensure that they enjoy themselves.

How much will a child improve?

Very much and not only of tennis, he also will improve in physical, nutrition, companionship, culture, etc. And what is more important, he will live the only experience. Seeing to a world number 1 as Ferrero doing the same things that they inside like out of the court, it will motivate them.

What includes in the price?

The Course includes the following:

Parents can come with children. We have houses for adults, restaurant and even swimming pool. You can play tennis, too, take golf lessons or play football against our tennis team. We are about 40 minutes from Alicante. Parents can travel there and spend day on beach or shopping therapy.

THE SUMMER STAGE RETURNS WITH MORE ACTIVITIES AND SURPRISES THAN NEVER BEFORE!!!

Like every year, during June, July and August, Equelite-JCFerrero’s tennis Academy offers the opportunity to players from everywhere and all kind of levels, how is the truly essence of professional training. This program in holiday period wants to form players with the objective of developing his/her game and to start creating professional players in the future. Likewise, we also try that they reach maturity and the maximum performance of his/her potential like sport player and human beings, and certainly, an interest to wake them up in the physical activity that lasts during the rest of his/her lives.

A girl from Stage’07 said “For me, Equelite means a dream come true. I’ve been working very hard in the school and in my tennis club to be here, and now I can affirm that I’ve learned and enjoyed a lot in the Stage”.

And this is like that because what it began in 1995 as a small and humble residence with a couple of tennis courts, is now one of the best centres worlwide. Principally, due to two characteristics that are kept in force from the beginning: the familiarity and the daily work. Definitively: humility, familiarity and work are three virtues that have taken Juan Carlos Ferrero, join to his natural talent, the apex of the world tennis.

Last summer, all players of the Stage could verify how it is the life of a professional tennis player, not only practising it, but also coexisting with all Competition players of the Academy, some day with David Ferrer, and assiduous with Guillermo García-López and the former #1 Juan Carlos Ferrero. This year, we also will have the presence of professional players and other young promises of international prestige.

Like usually, the Summer Stage is divided in fortnights with a routine of double training in the morning and in the afternoon until the dinner’s time, moment in which the team of entertainers enters action to organize activities of all kinds for always tireless players.

The staff will be composed by the directors, coaches, trainers, physical therapists, psychologists, entertainers, doctors and some other qualified professionals with long years of experience.

In addition, about the activities we can advance the excursions to the water and paramount parks, the parties, the football and paddle, the swimming pool, the internal tournament, the classes of languages (Spanish or English), the golf …

Thus for our part, we hope that all the players who decide to visit us improve very much, enjoy the experience and especially, that spend an unforgettable time.

"SUMMER STAGE 2007 LETTER
Players of Stage:

After your time in the Summer Stage 2007 in Equelite-JCFerrero Tennis Academy, we would like to thank you your confidence in our system of training and all services of the Stage.

When a player comes here for a period of time, not only do they improve there game inside the court but also outside like a person. To know so many people, make friends from other cultures, learn languages, be surrounded by and live with elites tennis players… it’s an unique experience.

For this, we hope you study a lot throughout the year because the consistency is also important. Carry on training hard like you have until now so that the next time you are closer to following the steps of Juan Carlos Ferrero.

You have all had the opportunity to mix and live with a former world nº 1 which is Juan Carlos, a player who lifted the Davis cup for Spain, has won various masters series and triumphed in Roland Garros…

And if this was not enough you have seen David Ferrer, Guillermo García-López or the junior women champion Tita Torro. They also were young like you and had the illusion to get far.

We hope that you have had an unforgettable time in the Academy and we hope to see you next year. It is important not loose contact with your friends from the Stage for the next time you see them.

I stopped and was thinking what I had done? I know you, he said to me. -Really? -You write blog. -AAAAA (I relaxed) yeap. -Why dont you write in spanish? So, Hey that Guy! Remember me? (hehe) now you have a chance to read some staff in spanish. Hope, you like it.

"Por fin era domingo 15 de Julio, el día que tanto habíamos esperado. Esa sensación de nuevo, el gran camino de pinos que nos llevaba hacia el STAGE DE VERANO…Aún había poca gente, alguna cara conocida, pero… otras tantas nuevas.

Deshicimos las maletas y nos fuimos a comer macarrones…!!!. Mientras comíamos empezamos a hablar con la gente, chicos y chicas de diversas nacionalidades: Dubai, Rusia, Polonia, España… así que pusimos nuestro inglés en práctica.

En las siguientes horas comenzaron las primeras risas, gritos,… etc. Empezamos a ver con quien congeniábamos y todo eso. Ese día fue un día caluroso, pero… perfecto. Esa tarde, después del descanso, tuvimos la reunión. Javi (director del Stage) nos explicó el funcionamiento del Stage, los horarios y demás. Mientras todos sentados escuchábamos atentos. También nos presentaron a los monitores.

Esa noche nos sirvió para conocer más y mejor a toda esa gente con la que íbamos a pasar 15 días.

Hey Guys!

The summer is nearly over. This summer was full, we had so many kids from diffrent countries: Spain, America, UK, Russia and even from Japan. During the pro.programme we have about 30 players, but now 80!!!!!!! LOTS OF PLAYERS EVERYWHERE: courts, tv room, restaurant.... It was nice to see people from summer stage 2005 (It was my first time in the academy, when I was among those 80 kids hehe) .

Hey everybody.

I came back to u guys. Sorry I did write our blog for along time and I wanna say Sorry. Because I had so many tournaments. And I was trying to get Ferrero with your questions. I wanna continue writing again because I like to write for u guys. I wish u understand me.
Well lets start with some things about our academy. The Academy is growing up. Everything is going great here. Everybody is playing tournaments now because in summertime there are so many tournaments. I did it well like everybody. WE had lots of players during this summer.
I remember I promised to answer to your questions and choose the winner. Actually JC Ferrero chose the winner. Ready? The winner is question about why academy named Equelite. I wanna this person to contact me. I have the present for him. Ok guys later I will update more. RESPECT AND BYE.

- THE WINNER!!!!!! Is "Equelite" a coined word? Spanish? What does "Equelite" mean? (Although it may not be a question which should be written here... I wanted to know it from before.)

- Where should I place lead tape on my head flex point tour to make it like Ferreros?
- You have to find yours model and weight. Each player has his style.

Hi Guys, today I had an interesting talk with Javier Capitaine (JC Ferrero’s physical coach) about life, tennis. Ok, read it yourself.

-Hi Javier! How are you? I am very happy that you found free time for me and now our blog-readers can know you closer.
-Hi ladies and gentleman’s...it is a pleasure for me to participate in your space...I want to take the advantage to say congrats especially to Kirill for his spectacular work as a journalist as being a tennis player…sincerely well done!
-First of all can you tell us about yourself, please? Where were you born? A little bit about your childhood.
-I am born in Cordoba, Argentina…the city of the best women in the world! Hahaha! !I love this place... the music, dance and the folks…but especially the people… my friends…and my family..Parents, Brothers, nephews and nieces…all of them live there.
I had an amazing childhood…always learning ..enjoying and living each moment with a big curiosity…wanting to know everything…practicing soccer, basketball, dancing and my dears martial arts…disciplines which I keep improving at this time.
-How it happened that you were involved in tennis?
- When I was studying Physical Education…my High Performance teacher Ricardo Masondo offered me to start to work with Ivanna Madruga one of the best tennis players in Argentina..of course like a helper…I was 19 years old…I accepted…but he didn’t show up and I was to make responsible process..like this.. I started my experience in the tennis world…after I was working with Ines Gorrochategui, Clarisa Fernandez, David Nalbandian, Guillermo Coria, Melina Ferrero and a lot of juniors players from Argentina…
Of course…at the moment I am working with Juan Carlos Ferrero, Maria Sharapova, Guillermo Garcia Lopez, Marta Domachowska, James Ward and Tomislav Percic…and others player from the Equelite Academy.
- And by the way what is your favorite sport?
-By far Martial Arts…but especially Mix Martial Arts…like Ultimate Fighting Championship, Pride, Bodogfight…I love to fight and the spirit of the warrior…but not aggressively…not with intention of hurting people...not... I like the codes of the samurais, the Bushido, the Spartan attitude in Thermophilas…I love the people that are able to fight for their goals for their achievements...for their freedom…not one time…each day, each minute, each second. I love this way.
-How long do you work with JC Ferrero? When did you decide to work together?
-I was working with Josep Perlas for almost two year…really a big honor ..in my opinion he is one the best coach in the world…because is an impeccable person… and great partner. I have learned a lot with him. Josep started to work with Juan Carlos and in a few month we were working together again...that was before Roland Garros 2006…I started to live at the Equelite Academy ..my dreamed place…one place designed to learn and train. I’m very comfortable and happy here.
-Could you describe Ferrero’s physical condition?
-In a nut shell..he is a great talent with a big spirit of a warrior..he was former #1..he had a lot of problems…but he keeps fighting…and he never gives up… this is the most important for me..a lot of champions..only are champions when everything is going ok..they are not warriors they are not true champions. Juan Carlos has an amazing base built by Miguel Maeso and Antonio Cascales… that allows him to keep improving today his performance in others domains...and he still has a lot to learn …but it would be impossible without the previous work.
- What do you think about JC Ferrero tennis Academy? (players, condition, courts)
-To be working and living at the Academy is like a to be going out with the most beautifull girl..hahahh! It is a really great place…Antonio Cascales always had the perfect Vision about the Academy..one place for learn to be a champions…The facilities, the courts, the peoples..are there to have goals..For Antonio the academy must be like a big family.This is essential for him like a teamwork.
- How do you spend your free time?
- Free?? Free of what? All my time is free!! Really!! I think that when you love something you never want to liberate from this…I don’t know if everyone will understand what I am talking about…but who can understand ..for sure they love what they do. I am always alternating my activities..Coaching, Training, Biology, Reading, Writing, Researching, Mix Martial Arts, History, Practicing Iaido, Fighting, Designing excercises, Music ( I love play the guitar and saxophone) and having conversation about my passions with my students and friends personally or through the internet.
-In our poll, I ask everybody if they read tennis books and could they help in tennis or not, I’d like to hear your point of view about that question?
-Im a freak reader…but the improve in any context is only trough training..nothing is possible playing with the ideas…My point of view is very clear…I think that there are not any book.
I agree…absolutely. The human being to become from the action…not from the explanations.
-Most coaches write books about tennis, don’t you think to write one?
-I have writen 5 books..but Im not a business man.. Im coach.,,,and I love be coach,,.probably in the future I have wishes to publish one…now I prefer to work and keep learning…something that never finishes,
-If you don’t mind first I will ask few questions about tennis tips and in comments I will ask our readers to leave more for you. Ok?
So my question is how to avoid injuries during the training on court? (just few common advice)
-In my opinion the most important point about injury prevention is the coordination training …and improve the ability to adapt the organism to different conditions,(surfaces, balls, whether, travels) Should be very important too...the specific prevent injury drills; generic and in stroke.
-What can you tell about modern tennis from physical point of view?
-Interesting question…I have worked with swimmers,tri-athletes,fighters,wind surfers,cyclist and runners as well as tennis players.i think that tennis players are one the most completes athletes in the world...Which sport has the competitive frequence like tennis? What sportsman or sportswoman perform every week, all the year? What about the continuous trips.changing all conditions?
Today ..,if you want have a tennis champion you have to have an resistant, speed, strong, coordinate, flexible, clever, tactically very intelligent…and mentally impressive…
Is very simple…the tennis players must be in a High level condition..if not is impossible to be in the top.
- I know that you travel a lot, so can you remember any funny moments ( or just one) from the tournaments? I asked that questions too many people and the answer was that there were too many and we didn’t hear any.
-Ok...I never will forget: Guillermo Coria –Rafa Nadal in Rome 2005… the David Nalbandian talent to learn, the Roger Federer kindness and courtesy, the warrior attitude of Juan Carlos Ferrero, Leytton Hewitt and Rafa Nadal… my fierces conversation with Jose Perlas, Ivan Gutierrez, Jose Higueras, Leonardo Lerda and Eduardo Infantino… the spirit to improve and commitment of Maria Sharapova…
Special moments? The big hug of Guillermo Coria with me when he won Umag 2005…The Masha USOpen 2006…the first time in a tennis tournament with my brother and manager Raul Capitaine and with my mother Martilde in the Madrid Women’s Master Series…and every day with my players and partners in the Equelite Tennis Academy

Hey everybody!!!

How is your life going??? Our life on tennis courts goes on. These weeks were pretty busy for me and other people -tournaments and exams. Everything passed really good. We did our best in all the ways: in exams (We had 3-5 exams a day in Alicante.There were science, Spanish, French, math etc.) and in tournaments we were trying to do our best, too. Some people are playing futures now in Canaries. JC Ferrero and GG Lopez came back from the tournament. For practice to the grass season tournaments. Garcia is alittle bit injured, he did not practice some days. What about JC Ferrero, he was playing with Salva. (Coach of GG Lopez.). They are going to play in Halle, I think. And I wish goodluck to them.

Summer stage is coming and that’s going to be really fun with new players.

This week was birthday of GG Lopez (our player) and Jose Manuel Madrona (our manager).

We wish them Happy Birthday and goodluck in future. All their dreams will come true!!!

Later its coming interview with Capi (physical coach of JC Ferrero) He is going to tell us so many cool things.

-Hi Jason! Glad that you found a minute to talk to me a little. I know that You were the first Australian at the Academy and you can tell me many experiences about your time in Europe and specially at the Academy. Also you have played a lot of Futures around the world. So, how did you get here? Australia is the other end of the world:) How old were you?
- ey dude…I spent 3 years at the academy and I look back now and appreciate that they have been some of the best years of my life so far. I first arrived in Villena at 15…it was the first time I went overseas!!!...i had spoken with Toni when he was in Melbourne the year before about going to the academy and that’s how it all started…
- What does it mean that you were the first Australian here? Were there any players from different countries or just all Spanish?
- first aussie there…yeh it was funny…I spoke no Spanish and most of the guys (there were like 12 others when I got there) spoke very little or no English at all…but they all made sure that I learnt the language reasonably quickly and I have them to thank that I can speak reasonable Spanish now…there was carlos pinto from Portugal and an English guy named tom Sampson…the rest of the players were Spanish when I first got there…but about 6 months later another portuguese player and now good friend, Jose Pires arrived…but the majority were Spanish.
-The question that I ask everyone, about the size of academy in your time? Courts? Coaches? training?
- it was totally different to now…it was very small when I got there…there were the 5 main claycourts and the academy were just starting to construct the first two hardcourts…there was also just the original house where all the players lived together…when I look back I loved that time the most…there was about 5 coaches in total when I first got there…they were all great…and training was ‘duro’ as usual.
- Was physical training hard in academy?
- very
- Tell us, please, the most interesting story that happened to u here.
- ha…it was at an ITF in Portugal with Madrona, Javi, Jose and some other players…I was in an ambulance at 2 am from the tennis club going to hospital with all the guys chasing after the ambulance in the academy van…and then they waited for me while I was in the hospital until 4 am…you have to ask madrona for more details….because there are many about that evening…but there was always something funny happening at the academy…it was never boring
- Do you remember your first tournament? How it was? What did you feel?
- not really…I remember my first ITF in Morocco and I was very nervous as most players are
- Could you give advice how players can prepare themselves mentally before a game?
- I liked to listen to music that got me in a very focused state of mind…but everyone has their own way of doing things…just having a routine which you’re comfortable with…I mean, you have JC there so im sure you don’t have to look far to see how the great players do it!!
- You played a lot of Futures around the world, what is the hardest part of it?
- when you have doubts about your progress combined with living away from home for most of the year is not easy…
-After losing the match, how did you prepare yourself to play the next one and be ready to win?
- first talk with the coaches about the match and then listen to them and try to do what they said…listening to them after a match and getting their opinion for me was very helpful…especially when there is a good connection with the coach

-What was the reason to leave the academy?
- 3 years in villena felt like a long time and some close friends from the academy had quit and I was thinking of doing the same at the time…but then I met some people from a small training base in germany and decided that maybe a change would get me fresh and motivated to continue playing…
- What did you get from the academy? If to compare when u came first and left the academy? How was your tennis?
- I cant tell you what the academy taught me…they taught so many things about living life and dealing with adversity that I could possibly write a book about it…part of the person that I am today has got to do with the years I spent at the academy…I am grateful of the people who guided me through those important years…as for the tennis…I learnt how to play from the baseline!!
-Can u compare Spanish tennis and Australian one? Any specific tips?
- this is easy…Spanish tennis is more tactical and as a consequence played more from the baseline…Australian tennis has been more on power and serve and volley…but this is not so much the case anymore…but the players here still like ti play points fast…sometimes too fast…as for tips…listen to your coaches
- What are you doing now if it’s not a secret?
- studying commerce and law at university in australia

Tennis tournaments under 16

Hello everyone im David Mckenna. Im am 15 years old. And i will be informing you of all the events that will take place this year in the under16 age group.

First i will tell u about our main tournament this year. Its and under 16 tournament.It takes place in almost every part of spain.There are 8 Marcas all over spain for example place like Barcalona,Alicante,Sevilla,Zaragoza and Madrid.......So at the end of all the 8 Marca tournaments you have a masters.Where the top 8 players who get the best results in all the tournament will go to Marbella. A beautiful tennis club.To play the masters. And on because of their top performaces everything is paid for the player hotels, food.......and lots more.

Now i will tell you about our journey to Barcalona. We left the academy in the morning at about 12 o clock. We arrived there at like 17:30 We went straight to the resturant because we were so hungry....So after about 5 mins we found a resturant. it looked good we went in everything was clean. But the waiters were so slow.Not a very good first impression hey.But i dont think it was because they are slow i think the waiter were still shocked at Barcalonas loss to Getafe 0_4 hahahaha Afer that we found a hotel. It was good but the beds were abit dodgeeeeeeeeee but we got to sleep. Woke up the next morning ready to play or shall i say ready to sleep hahaha.We went to eat breakfast and then we shot off to the courts.When we got there i was ready to have a look around.I did and so did the other there were 5 of us including the coach.The club was very nice and i was ready to play right then.But that was not our day for any of us we all lost first round except for 2 people Sergio ballester of spain and Suzy Larkin of England.The rest of us packed our bags and left on the train unhappy.Sergio went on to lose 64 in the third set in the second round.And we should all say well done to Suzy who played a really good tournament and got to semis.In a very difficult tournament. And Suzy is only 15 this year so she played people one year older than her.

And it dosent stop there..... on top of Suzys good tournament she was the first person in the academy to win the letter competition. I will explain.You have to get all the letters of E.Q.U.E.L.I.T.E.I will explain how. It sounds easy.

E stands for positive training

Q stands for food care like if u eat salads and stuff.

U stands for correct use of installations

E stands for positive physical training,

L stands for bedroom clean

I stands for intrest in tennis.

T stands for effort in tournaments.

E stands for positive attitude.

And every week for 8 months we have a meeting in the gym to see who gets and who loses letters. And this week we would like to say well done to Suzy Larkin who is have a great week.Her prize for winning was lots of lotto clothes like shoes,skirts,socks,t-shirts,wristbands and shorts.But if you work hard thats what you get. Im going will inform you how all the other tournaments go see ya.....and next time i will tell you more about all the players and coaches who go to these tournaments.

Hey everybody!!!

I’m still here with you guys and I’m so happy and proud to be with you. Thanks for your wishes. Thanks Academy for this big present what you published in the blog when I was sleeping and did not think about blog (hheeheh).

Today after my birthday I start to create our blog with my team. There are coaches from the academy, my new 2 partners –helpers(we are on photo). Now we are going to make it more interesting. You will know more about tournaments which I’m going to play and other players too. You will see all our tennis players and get more info about them.

We decided to create a new staff for you. Its called “Ask Equelite blog” Some words about our rules. Choose the proper category (Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4) for your question and leave it in comments. Every month we will answer to your questions in our blog. And every month we will choose the best question of the month. The winner will get presents from Tennis Academy. Happy birthday KIRILL!!!!!!!!!

Today is Kirill Kucherov’s birthday, our player and blog-maker, and this is a surprise from all Academy!!!!

Last year he decided to create Equelite blog, being the first hand information about how future tennis stars like him practice in Spain.

What began in 1995 as a small, modest residential establishment with a few tennis courts is now one of the world’s best training centres.

And we are really proud of players like Kirill, he is giving his best during his time at the Academy and we are sure that he will arrive far.

- I was born in ireland moved to south africa, Cape town when i was 2.I grew up there. I loved it south africa is great. and at the age of 14 i came to the juan carlos ferrero academy.And now i have been here like 1 year and 2 months.And im enjoying it.

- When did you start to play tennis?

- At the age of 6

- Why tennis? (no hockey, golf, swimming)

- I played tennis,rugby,swimming,athletics,and cricket but i chose tennis because i loved the sport and I felt that i could go far in it.

- What does tennis mean for u?

- Everthing its a sport i that i have to play alot.If not i get upset.

- My tennis is a thing i concintrate on alot so every day im trying to make things better I play right handed and i play two hand backhand.And i play flat.

Question about rackets

You know, I was a blog-maker for one week for www.itftennis.com/juniors. and I am sure, you all read it. I decided to post all days here as to save for history. Hope you will enjoy to read it again. Thanks guys for your questions. I will write more about our players soon.

Here is a good question from Ross K:

-Hi Kirill,Good to see you're still posting. Thanks for the update. I hope you have a good tournament and good luck with the blog as well.Actually I was wondering about something: what racquets do you all use? What's popular out there in Spain with you academy players? What's your choice, Kiril? Or are you just all sponsored and therefore are happy to use whateveer you are given? As you can see, I'm a bit of a racquet obssessive! But I'm interested in the whole issue of racquets and what aspiring pro's like yourselves are using. By the way, any personal details like what racquets you personally like and the qualities you look for, as well as what weight you like, do you lead it up (and if so where and how much lead tape) - etc? And what racquets would you recommend for 4.0 baseline players (2hbh, consistent if not very strong serve)... anyway, enough of the questions for now...Cheers amigo... have fun!

-Hey, you post pretty interesting questions about the rackets. Ok … the most popular here is WILSON. So many people are playing Wilson rackets. For example, Tommy Peric he is 400 ATP. He is using racket of Federer. Everybody started to play with new models. Other racket, which I'm using and some other people, is babolat (official racket of Andy Roddick). I like this racket pretty much. Its 315grams and I use strings Pro Hurricane. I'm the one who play that racket. Other players prefer 300 grams Babolat.( new model). I can tell u difference: Wilson racket has much control and babolat - more powerful racket with a little control. Its more easy to serve with this racket. Other racket is Head. Now in academy some players play Head prestige flexpoint. And some people started to try new racket of Head (Ljubicic and other players are using this racket).

All players have the style for rackets. For example, if you are a baseliner player. I think Tecnifiber,Head, babolat, Prince (aero) is really good rackets for baseline. If you are a player who use more power. Its good to use babolat, yonex,head and some models of Wilson. If u are more control player, you prefer playing on baseline, do passing shots and sometimes go to the net. Wilson, prince and maybe Yonex. That’s it I think.

Grade 3 tournament in Spain -Day 6

Hey everybody!!!

Today was the FINALS and it means that it's my last day as a blog-maker of ITF. But I will do my best to finish it perfectly.

Ok, guys first of all, the morning started with warming up on and off the court. Some people went to our doctor to put the tape. For them, it was the most important match of this week. Carlos Boluda came to watch final and JC Ferrero was with us too. Garcia Lopez left to go to the Estoril Open. All coaches and workers started to clean the courts after the rain, so many people came to watch the final, the central court looked perfect with so many sponsors, posters and etc. All matches started at 11 o’clock.

The first match was between Johanna Konta (AUS) vs Julia Goloborodko (UKR). The match started, everything was good, but after a couples of minutes the players had to change the court because that one was not good for the final. All the players and coaches from the academy helped to put chairs around the new court. It was alittle physical work for us but the changes did not spoil girls’ will to win. Ok, everything was ready; second try to start the match. It was really exciting match with so many passing shots. Konta Johanna(AUS) won this match. GAME SET MATCH AND CHAMPION OF THE TOURNAMENT.

The second final was between Milan Seculic(SWE) vs Rafael Mazon(ESP). Seculic has showed a great fight in this tournament. He is really the anti player of academy Equelite. He beat all players from our academy in main draw. Yeah, these were good matches, he showed his powerful tennis. What about the Spanish matador Rafael,he showed that Spanish players feel good on clay court like fish in the sea. The match was very difficult, three sets, a really long and very exciting match!!! Each side showed powerful passing, all the people were like VAMOS RAFA, but in this match Seculic was stronger. GAME SET MATCH AND CHAMPION OF THE TOURNAMENT. Congratulations!

From the courts everybody moved to enjoy the last final part - prize giving. The most important historical moment came, Samuel, Madrona, JC Ferrero , his father and sponsors presented the winners and finalists with the CUPS. The was a photographera (I think, for sure, its ITF not ATP and WTA photographer. Lol) After the main part, everyone could relax and enjoy the party: eat, drink and remember the most interesting and hard moments of this week. It was a really big day. Next year will be another tournament here (on clay or hard, maybe, grass, we will see hehe), more players, new winners and interesting matches.

Ok guys that’s it…..This week was such a fantastic week for me. I’m so happy that ITF gave me the chance to write the blog. Thanks ITF for this opportunity and YOU, guys, that have read my weekly reports from Spain.

Hey everybody!!!

Today was pretty interesting but a rainy day. Semifinals started and I thought everyone had been focused on the matches before today, not they are really looking nervous. For some people this day was really important and difficult. But it was not so good for our players and later I will tell you why???

All of the players started warming up pretty early and some players that were going to play doubles tried to be ready for their afternoon matches. After breakfast and morning classes, I went to the gym to warm up and work on some exercises for my legs. I watched a little of the girls matches Titta vs Konto (I think, if I’m wrong. I’m so sorry!) And another Goloborodka vs Cervera. The mathes were pretty exciting, all the coaches and guys from the academy watched the match between TItta and Konto. Everybody was worried so much but Titta lost in 2 sets. Game set match Konto in the final. In in the other match Goloborodko made her way to the final.

It was time to go to practice, but I played a little tennis and did some exercise, because of the rain. When I finished, I went to watch a pretty interesting match between Alen Bisevic and Seculic Milos. But on the other court was the real battle between 2 Spanish matadors: Rafael Mazon vs Patino Sanches . I could not watch two matches in the same time, I wish I had a twin brother to be on both courts. Lol. Between the two matches I chose to watch the match between Alen and Milos first. It was really difficult and huge match, powerful tennis from Seculic's side and control and passing shots from Alen's side. I think its normal for Swedish players, their style is to hit each ball as strong as you can and serve a second serve ace. The match was so long and Milos tried break the ball and Bisevic was trying to move his opponent and getting all the balls.

Then I went to watch the match of Spanish armada. Could not miss it. Mazon for me was leading all match. He was winning all balls. The match was 2 sets. Game, set, match Mazon. Congratulations.

Knowing the results of the second match, I could finish watching the match of Seculic and Alen. First set went to Bisevic 7/6 and seconnd set a break at 4/3 and then ……RAIN. So, everybody went to have lunch. Seculic and Alen could not eat because they were so worried. In one hour rain stopped and I don’t know why they started to play on another court. And then another situation of the match changed all of the sudden like the weather of that day.. the big break was coming. Alen lost the set 6/ 4 . In the third set Alen was broken for 2/1. Seculic was fighting amazing he was hitting every ball as strong as he can. He broke again for 5/ 2 . Match point at 5 / 4 then 5 / 5 then 6 / 5 and then finally 7/ 5 –game, set, match Seculic Milos CONGRATULATIONS!!! It was really amazing fighting from both sides, but very often in tennis the weather can change the winner.

Ok guys tomorrow will be final. Lets see, who will find their way to success and win the ITF tournament in Equelite.

Grade 3 tournament in Spain -Day 4

Hey everybody!!!

I am still here with you in the Equelite Academy.

Today was the perfect weather for tennis. No sun, no wind, just a perfect chance to win the match event though when I got up the first thing that I saw it was drizzling. I wnt to the dinning room and everybody was leaving to warm up before their matches. All the players are looking more serious, everyone wants to be in final and to win.

Ok, when I finished classes, I went to see some matches. First match was Alen Bisevac (AUT) vs Singh Karanuday (IND). The match was pretty exciting.

Oh and today all matches had umpires in each court. But sorry guys, no ballboys. The first points started hard for both players. Big passing, every time the players cheered themselves up: Come on! Singh was talking so much with himself. But one ball changed the whole match. The score was 3/1, I think, for Alen. Singh hit the ball and Alen stopped the game. Out! The player from India was like Out??? The Umpire said that ball was out, too. After this Karanuday lost the game, he could not concentrate on the game, I think, that ball was still on his mind. Another funny moment was that Bisevac had a problem with his contact lenses, lol, after every point he was touching his eye. “Oh, I can't see the ball, hold on, I will fix it, a little to the left, no, no right.” After he ran to the bathroom to change his lenses. Game, set, match Alen Bisevic.

Other matches - the girls were playing. I watched just a little bit where Titta Torro (ESP) was losing 5 1 vs (I think) Zanevska Maryna (UKR). And Titta won this match 7/5. Girls tennis is so unpredictable.

I finished my practice and physical work. I’m really happy that my injury is getting better. Juan Carlos Ferrero has just come back from Barcelona, he was injured but I think he is better now. He was watching some matches of juniors guys. I think at that moment the pro players remember when they started playing, comparing themselves back then with their tennis now. Guillermo Garcia Lopez was also around but he spent his time in the gym.

The junior players were watching how the professional players work on their physique, it's really good for the juniors to learn from them.

In the evening, everybody was sitting in the TV room and talking about today’s matches. What about me, I’m sitting in my room and writing the blog for itftennis.com. On my usual blog Equelite Blog you can find more photos of the tournament.

Grade 3 tournament in Spain -Day 3

Hey from the hot country called Spain!

Today was the normal sunny day, when I came to the dinning room all the players looked more focused on the 2nd round. People's chances of winnnig the tournament are getting higher and higher, who will it be?? We will see…

Today doubles started too. All the players who lost in 1st round were trying to take their chance in doubles. What about me? After some lessons in school at about 11 o’clock, I went to watch some matches so I can tell you all about them. All of the players were running around with theirrackets: “I need to change the strings. I need to tape my wrist, my leg, please!!!”.

My physical exercises were done, so I went to watch the match Dean O’Brien(RSA) vs Alen Bisevac (AUT). The match was pretty interesting, at first I thought, "Alen is still warming up with Patxi (our player from the academy).” Because the court was pretty far away and Dean was wearing a cap and looked just like Patxi. But after some minutes I thought, ”hmmm Patxi doesn't play 2 hands forehand and backhand!” The match had some pretty big rallies, lots of passing balls, although Alen was hitting not so strong. O’Brien was trying to attack more but it didn't seem to work as it ended up game, set, match Alen Bisevic. I think, the score was 63 61, (lol) I was trying to watch another match on another court, so didn't catch the score.

The second one was Carlos Boluda (the fourteen year old Spanish guy I told you about yesterday) vs Joshua Milton (GBR). I knew before the match that it would be a tough one for both Boluda and Milton. I was watching Milton’s tennis and his advantage is his strong forehand and really good control. Milton was returning with really good power and he took the first set 64. Then I had to go and practice but I got back just at the moment when people started clapping for Milton, who won. Congratulations!!!

There were so many other matches I cannot report on all of them because because I was really busy. I went to the doctor who worked on my injury and then I had to go and do some physical work, you see I don't get time off just because I am a reporter this week too!

One more match I did have the chance to watch was Goran Jucopila (CRO) vs Milos Seculic (SWE). Goran is the maestro of our academy, and Milos came to the court much more serious after his match vs Bachiller (the guy with his cramps and great show). Goran made alot of mistakes in the first set and he showed a really good Croation fight (good job man), but he couldn't get past Milos who played really well. Game set match for Milos.

In the afternoon doubles started which was really nice. But one tip, after an hour of watching the guy you are going to play doubles against and you have seen all his strengths, like a huge forehand, when you start to play doubles, don't serve to his huge forehand!!! Yeah man, concentrate more next time!!!!In the evening when play was over everybody had dinner and went to watch football in TV room.

Grade 3 tournament in Spain -Day 2

Hey everybody!

I’m here with you again. Today is the first day of main draw in the tournament. All matches started about 9 o’clock so all of the players got up at about 8 o clock. When I came to the dinning room everyone was eating sandwiches, corn flakes and drinking juice. Some of them left early to warm up on the court.

Our life has not changed here, we start our day with gym, this week is the most difficult week, running again or tennis. “If you did not get to ITF this time, you will be ready for the next tournaments, be sure”, our couch said when we ran another 10 km today.

It was such hot weather but matches were pretty interesting and difficult. I did not see all of the matches because I could not miss out on my running! But I had a chance to watch the most interesting. I saw some really talented players and really good fighters.

The most interesting match was between Ignacio Bachiler from Spain and second seed Seculic Milos from Sweden. The match started really well, both players started with some great passing shots. But then they started to have some problems with the score and line calls. Then, after the third set Bachiller's leg began to cramp, he continued to play the point: Serve, hit the ball and AAAAAA no puedo (I can't). Another two points and he called the doctor. Later it was the same story with his second leg, thank god he has only two! Milos was serving for the match and it was the weirdest point: Milos served slowly, he was thinking that Bachiller would not be able to hit the return and he would get advantage but Bachiller was running like a chicken and screamed like a warrior AAAAA and hit an amazing winner. Bachiller was a great fighter, every time he hit a ball he was saying:” I can’t play anymore” but he carried on, however in the end he lost the third set and the match 67 62 61.

I saw another match with Carlos Boluda, a fourteen year old Spanish guy, he plays really good tennis. He got a Wild Card for the tournament and played a Romanian guy Andrei Savulescu. That was a really exciting match. When Boluda started, it was like BAH BAH no mistakes nothing, I was like wow! He won the first set 62. In the second set both players were really fighting well but Boluda was too good, game, set, match Boluda 62 75.

And Goran Jukopila if you see his match, you should listen to what he is saying after every point: Legend!!!! Maestro!!!!..... It was a really exciting match, too.

Today our player Guillermo Garcia Lopez came to visit the tournament, he's ranked No.60 in the world right now and was just playing at the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo, it's good that the pro players are interested in watching the junior matches.

So, the day is over, no more tennis for today, so all of the players have a chance to relax. They play computer games, cards, explore the internet, listen to music, when you go to the tent you see all types of resting and maybe you will find a way to relax for yourself, hehe.

Day 1

Hey everybody!!!

I'm a blog-maker for one week for www.itftennis.com/juniors. Why me, you would ask, oh, I will explain, but first of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Kirill Kucherov. I am from Moscow (Russia), but at the moment I live and train at JC Ferrero Equelite academy in Spain. As the tournament will be here for this week, and I am here, why not let you know how everything is going.

At the moment I play more national tournaments but now I'm injured and I have a little bit more time to blog. Oh, and in my free time I am a blog-maker. Last year we decided to create our blog Equelite Blog. It’s first hand information about how future tennis stars are trained in Spain.

Ok, last Monday we started the preparations for the tournament. Last year the tournament was on hard courts now it's on clay. In the Academy a new office was built, where all players come to sign-in for the tournament. Everything is well organised to a very high level. Alot of people have come, to play the tournament.

I think the Academy has done a great job for the players. The Academy has all the conditions we need to practice, all type of courts and places to live. So the players who come to the tournament can stay inside the academy and show their best game and not have to waste their time travelling.

The players stay in small houses where players who come to train at the academy for more than one week usually stay. Or some of them get to stay in V I P houses. Lucky ones!!! Players can choose what to eat in the kitchen. For the players big tents are put up where they can watch TV and use Wireless or normal internet. There are shops where they can get drinks, ice cream and sweets and there are lots of courts for warming up before their matches.

As for qualies, there were so many interesting matches and funny things. Some won, some lost, that’s tennis. I heard like one coach said: “Don’t worry, man, strings are not so expensive. Please hit the centre of the racket!!!!”

Main draw starts today, Tuesday and I think there are going to be many interesting matches.

Ok, guys tomorrow I’ m going to write more about the day and we will see who is going to win this tournament.

Ok, last Monday we started the preparations for the tournament "the Campeonatos Internacionales Junior de Tenis de la Comunidad Valenciana"24 Apr to 28 Apr 2007. Hey everybody!!!

This week was so exiting and I have not so much time for blog, sorry. But I did everything to answer to your questions. This week Valencia tournament has started. Ok lets start…..

I remember I read so many things and books about tennis. And so any people asked which road to success. So many people said that to be professional is so difficult. Hmmmm, you know, there are 2 ways, like in life. One of them to go down and one of them to go up. Way down, that’s for people for whom everything is impossible. And they look for easy ways in there life and try to push other people down. And Up is just for believers and that’s. And that’s happened in tournament in Valencia, maybe. Some really good players, who were out of 100 ATP for some reason, try to find themselves and come back in 100 ATP. They are going to fight like a beast to find the place under the sun.

First of all, lets start form Saturday. Some of our players, who got WC, went to the tournament. This year Toni Martinez, our father, was the director of this tournament. It was such a rainy day in academy. And so many people from Germany, Qatar and England came. We spent that day in our TV room. We were sitting and watching MTV. Rain outside, the window pure down. And Samuel said that we should play a virtual tournament on PS 3. Virtual tennis 3 ….. we were like oooooooook, Samuel. He made the draw and everybody started playing. It was so funny. I chose Andy Roddick. JC Ferrero and Garcia were watching. Yeah, for them football would be more interesting but…. And I won this tournament in final, easy for me. Thanks for congratulations.

In the evening our professional guys came back, they were look like: ''OHHHH I m professional player, how hard it is''. All of them lost except Alen (his player was retired). Next round of qually he lost. That was qually and then the most interesting - Main draw!!!

On Monday I went to Valencia. I got player’s card. With this card I could pass everywhere. I was like, ok, lets do it. When I came to the rest room, I saw players like Mayer, Almagro and others. There were 2 PS 3 , free drinks, internet and so many sofas. It looked nice. I was like: wow I’m around prof tennis players. It was really cool . So, I went to watch some matches. One of them was Gaibashvile vs Simon. I was sitting on V I P and watching the match. And one little boy came to me. “You are Simon’s coach?” “Sorry, Man, I ‘m just a player of Equelite.” Yeah, who knows, what is better to be a prof coach or prof player. I chose 2nd.

The whole week I spent my time in Valencia. I have been injured for 3 weeks. I can play tennis but not so strong. But, that’s ok, I’m strong Russian, hehhe. I met Ventura and his coach, Pedro Rico (do u remember Pedro Rico?He was in the academy and went to study in America). Ventura showed so good result in Valencia. He played so good and fought amazing, seriously guys. This guy is a legend player. His match with Martin was so difficult. Me, Pedro, Jose Ezequel and other 2 guys shouted: Come on! 3 0 down 3d set. We were shouting again: You can do it, Man. And 6 4 VAMOS!!! Respect GUYS!!!!

I spoke with really good people in Valencia: organizers, players, umpires. Yeah, it was really good. Almagro was in good form. Garcia lost first round vs Korolev. And in 2nd Round JC Ferrero vs Alberto Martin. But Ferrero was so sick. Seriously, you just can’t understand his feelings, how hard he wanted to win this tournament. Oh, James Ward, I forgot about him. Before the match James said: “Its going to be difficult. Scream come on as strong as you can. Lets try to win this match.” He played with French guy GENSSE, Augustine, who passed qualy, he was really good fighter, guys. I watched his match the last round of qualy. 5 1 down 3rd set and he won 7 5 I was like WOW!!! This guy has really good not HUGE forehand. And good serve and volley. But backhand he played more slice. James’ start was good -7 6 ,but then he lost set and then guys, I could not believe, 2 0 UP and he lost match 6 4. I said to James: ”No problems, Man, lets go and punch this guy!!!” Any way, this guy lost vs Navarro.

Monday again. We started to play pre qualy. I could not play, I had so big pain in my arm. I did my the best. But I continue working. Our doctor said that I must rest. I cant do it, I need to play and I play like 30 min every day.

Russian Journalists came to make report about our academy. Me and commercial director showed the academy, the way we live, train and rest. Hope, we will see this programme on TV. Or they will send us a copy heheeee.

Hey guys!!!

How r u? Its me, Kirill and today I’d love to write about history of this academy. I was thinking about this idea, but I didn’t know details. Yeah, in official site you can read about it but I’d like to write more about JC Ferrero and Garcia Lopez. And just about life here. It was a Saturday evening. Many stage people came here for one week and for me it was the very good gift. With all these people was our friend Javi. And I had a chance to ask him some questions about history. He told me very interesting things that I did not know. Ok, guys, get ready to read history of our academy.

First of all, the Academy was made in 1995. It was Equelite. Toni bought a small field, where there were just 2 clay courts and one old house. The staff was small as the academy, just Toni, Samuel and Carlos(financial director). They started to make this academy. And they didn’t know that a boy named JC Ferrero would be number 1 in the world. There were just few players: JC Ferrero, Jose Ezequel, Pedro Rico, Santiago Ventura and 2 more players. The Academy was like one big family, because all job for the academy Toni’s family was doing. His Brother, his sister and other members of the family. In Villena city, which is near Alicante, were not clay courts, just hard. And every morning all players were running 30 min to the city to play on hard courts and they were coming back running. You’d ask, why they did not go there by car, because it was their gym. Yeah, for me, I think, it was really difficult life and I respect their persistence.

Until 14 years old JC Ferrero was number 1 in Junior ranking. And tennis federation offered him to practice in Barcelona for free. And Toni asked tennis federation: “Could u give money for us, And our player will practice here with us.” But tennis federation said no and Ferrero continued to practice here. In his 16 years old, his Mother died. Juan Carlos was upset and he did not want to play tennis any more. His world was broken for him. His coach Toni said: “Don’t give up. Continue fighting. You will be the great player.” Toni asked Ferrero to live with him in his house. After some years Ferrero won Rolland Garros Junior.

He started to grow up and there were lots of offers from many good coaches, But Juan Carlos continue working with his coach and good friend Toni. After 1999 Ferrero won Mallorca and then Rolland Garros . He started to be number 1.

I’m very proud to practice here to be the player of academy and the part of the family. All players, who started their tennis here with JC Ferrero, are really champions and number 1: Jose Ezequel, Pedro Rico, Santiago Ventura. All these people are heroes. They all help to the academy. This is really the big family Equelite. I’m so happy to be the part of them. I found good friends here and people who believe in me. I don’t think about my ranking in future. I’m just happy that I have this perfect life. Every morning I get up when the sun is shining over my window in my face with thoughts that today all good things will go in to my way and go to the court to do my great job. And I believe that in one day, I will see the bright light and I will use my chance. I think the strongest weapon is belief, love of the game and god will be with you. With hard work, you will make it to a place called Success!!

Hey everybody!!!

Sorry, I did not write our blog pretty long time. You know.... tennis and many other things. So rainy days in Spain now. Today I took 1 day off with my friend because of rain and it was good time for resting. And we went to Valencia. It was pretty good. When we came to the academy it was like coaches' meeting and so many people came here.

As for JC Ferrero, he came back home after his lost vs Canas. The same with Garica Lopez. They just have rest now, I think so. Yeah professional life is so hard. Valencia tournament will be in april.So we will see them there, I am sure.

ITF tournament is coming here and some players will play ohhhh pre pre qualy, pre qualy, qualy, main draw I know its funny but …. The last year Anderson won this tournament, I think, he is from south Africa. With his style Serve and volley he showed the great final. I remember, after some points he were doing so many amazing things with his racket. He is very talented juggler. Did u find out that when the player is nervous, he is trying to find the task for his hands (socks, racket, cap.....) heheeee

And tomorrow, guys, I' m going to put one more interview with our player.

Hey everybody!!!

How r u? I feel good now and everything is perfect. Training, tournaments and blog =) Yeah now with good feelings I continue to write our blog.

Usually Englishmen like to talk about weather, but here for me, it’s the main topic, too:) So, In Spain the weather is so windy windy now and you know, its so difficult to practice and play tournaments. If u are opposite the wind on court, u must use all your power and the ball will land sooner or later, I think…. But if the wind with u, u will be like Andy Roddick. U just touch the ball like superman and the ball will fly with 200 km/h . In tournaments the most funny thing is that u just hit the ball with spin and it will bounce up your head hehe.

JC Ferrero and Garcia Lopez are not fighting with that lovely wind with us. They are in Miami. We are waiting to match them, that will be cool. I wish them Good luck.

In April ATP Valencia and ITF tournaments are coming. I’m going to do something interesting for u. U will know and see a lot of photos from these tournaments. ITF tournament will be in our academy. Ok, guy, just wait and it will so exciting. Summer stage is going for 2 weeks, I think. Javi and stage… its going to be fun. (I wonder, why they call it summer stage, for April its Spring Stage:) OK, guys, If u have any questions, just ask me! I will try to find the answer (heheheee)

Warning: New rules for us!!!

Hey guys!!!
I m here with you again, guys. I m alittle bit ill but that’s ok. I still can hold racket, write our blog and drink glass of juice on my breakfast. And everybody is still fighting in academy. Some people left us and some is still fighting to find their place under the sun. And in one perfect day RULES of ACADEMY came. You know, after this, u are scared to breathe sometimes. You can get negative point.

1 point -its northing,

2 points - u have to give one of your staff for one week to the coach ( so lucky coaches, they can take any stuff from mobile until your computer)

3 points -u have to work in your free time in the academy(like work in garden, I think the best thing is in the kitchen)

4 points -No practice tennis.

What we need to do? Forget to threw rackets and swear on the court. WHY GOD!!! You know I think, they should make rules for coaches, too. Some coaches threw rackets sometimes. I think, its bad, because the same rules for school. U cant be late in the morning. It’s better to give all your staff and don’t worry. But they can’t take my heart (my IPOD). If u have any comments about these rules, tell me. If somebody wants to come in summer stage, don’t worry, I think, they will not put them for summer. But for us …. Its just our life, but we are happy and SMILE. Many tournaments are coming. That’s cool. And congratulation for JC Ferrero, u showed the great result. All academy watched you and of course Toni Martinez was with us, too.
Ok guy cya and goodluck.
And wait for interview with Jason London. He was the first Australian at the Academy and he can tell us many experiences about his time in Europe and specially at the Academy.

Tennis, exams and weekend!!!

Hey everybody !!!

It’s the high time for tournaments. Some players went to play tournaments, others practice in the academy to play tournaments later. They are waiting the turn to show their best.

That week was hard and crazy. Half of the academy had exams in school. Foooh, it was amazing. Early in the morning we went to Alicante to take the exams. Everybody studied and studied even when we went to the city. Funny, It took us 30 40 min to write the answers (we had 3 hours limit, and those who finished early could leave and walk around). So we were walking and resting. The weather was so windy. In academy, it was like “The day after tomorrow 2.” The Wind broke the gate and our GRASS COURT. When I saw that, it was like the grass wave. Guys, where was my board? Oh, I left it at home. What a pity!!! Do you think we had rest after exams? No, just we came back to the academy, we did some running things on running machine. It was amazing, when you go to play tennis. You just stay like statue of ATP sign. And thing or no please play more long I can’t move.

Someday somebody in forum asked me where our academy is. Its in the middle of nature. What can u see around, u ask? Just fields and mountains, mountains and fields. And things hmmm its difficult to run out of here. Now it stated weekends the coaches made new rules for us. We cant go out to other city without signs of your coach. And u must explain the reason to him why you go out. The most popular thing is to: I just go for walking around, I need to breathe air. At night everybody is watching football or we play computer games.

-Hi Pedro! How are u, Man? Glad that u found a minute and tell me and our blog readers about your life. I know that You practiced all your life in the Academy with JC Ferrero, José Ezequiel and Santiago Ventura too. You were Ferrero's partner in doubles many times and you with Ferrero won Spanish Championship. U have gone a lot of times to the ATP tournaments with Toni and Ferrero. Last year u were National Champion of USA University.
Tell us, how did u get to this academy? How long have u been here?
- I got to the academy when I was only 15 and I practiced there for six years, when I decided to go to USA and play college tennis. Equelite always gave me the opportunity to practice there and use their facilities whenever I wanted.
-How did the academy look like? (now its modern with all type of courts)
-That’s a good question…well, it didn’t have anything to do with what it is right now. When I started, Toni just bought the house (then, an old house) and it didn’t have any courts. Then within few months they built a couple of clay courts and then a couple more. The academy has been growing and improving every single year since then.
- How many players were there? And coaches?
-When I started in the academy there were very few players and coaches. It was not like the way it is right now. Samuel, Toni, Madrona were the main coaches when I started. My practice mates were then Juanki, Santi Ventura, Jose Ezequiel, Xavier Mascaro (from Menorca), Jesus Contreras (from Benidorm). Israel Matos, Pablo Garcia,etc. There was other players that came and left after a while but these are the people that I became good friends of mine. It was a great group because we were all the same age and we were also best friends. I was very fortunate that I was able to practice at such a great level everyday and this made me improve so much. I have a lot of beautiful memories from those years. I think we are going to need an extra interview if you want to know of some of the “old” Equelit stories…..hahaha
- How was physical training in academy? Did u run to the mountains?
-Conditioning was always one of the best things in the academy. Mountain?…hahahaha!! I don’t remember if we ran mountains or not but we ran a lot. Before the clay courts were done, we used to practice at a different site. I don’t know if you are familiar with the name “Agricola”. El Agricola used to be the place that we practiced at. I was not used to run that much before I got to Equelite and this made my first year be much harder than for some of the other guys who were already used to this type of conditioning…
- What did u like most of all here?
-What I liked the most…the friends I made in that academy are the best thing that I got from there. I spent a lot of time of my life in that academy and I have a lot great stories and experiences that made me learn a lot about life. However, if I had to choose one I would pick friendship.
- Can you remember any funny moments about your life at the academy?
- I have a lot…
- Lots of Ferrero’s fans read us, can you tell them about him?
- Discipline, hard work, humility, and heart, and a great friend from those years.
- Do you remember your first tournament? What did you feel?
- hehe. I was so nervous. It took me a while to get used to Toni watching my matches. I used to get so anxious….hahahaha
- How do you prepare yourself mentally before a game?
- I guess the night before. I liked getting everything ready the night before the matches. I wanted to have every single detail ready for battle
- What was the most difficult in the tournaments?
- stay mentally strong and being away from home
-What was the reason to leave the academy?
- I didn’t have the same passion I had few years before and I wanted to keep studding
- What did the academy give to you?

-Did your tennis change when you started to play in America?
- It obviously changed a little because I had to play on hard courts and I had to change few things in my game.
-Can u compare Spanish tennis and American one? Any specific tips?
- Clay Vs hard court. From what I have seen, I believe American tennis focuses much more on technique than Spanish tennis. I don’t really know but if I had to pick one thing from each one I would pick conditioning from Spain and psychology from USA
- What are your plans for future?
- Good question. Well, I just started coaching and I don’t know how long I will be doing this for. I love it so far but I don’t really know what my plans are for the future. I guess I would like to end up doing something that I’m happy with.
- What does tennis mean for u?
- Everything, all my life. Tennis has made me the person I am right now. Tennis gave me friends, education, and experience
- And the last thing what I would like to ask u, your Tennis Tips for guys who read our blog!!!
- buffff!! Just give the best you can give. But not only on the courts, give it also off the court and with the people you have around. Set up small goals for every single day. These goals are the goals that will lead you to the big and final goal. You need to have challenges and something to fight for everyday.

Hey everybody!!!
21:03 Spanish time, hehe, I am writing our blog. I would like to write about our life in this academy: our tennis practice and physical training. Ok let’s go.

You know, tennis is strange thing, when u watch it, u think, what’s so difficult in this sport, just hit the ball. Our physical coach says: Court is so big and u, guys, can’t hit it in the court. Sorry, man, its life. What u see, its wrong, just try it. In our academy and I think in all academies in Spain, we work more on Spanish style. What is the Spanish style, you ask. It’s to run to your forehand side and attack the ball with your forehand. As for Backhand in Spain they work on it just to hit the ball in the court. But its really good school. Anyway, every player has his individual style.

Now in tennis you need the huge physic. We work more on physical to run more on baseline, and we work for to make attack to the net and minimize our running on court as much as possible. Our coordination practice we always do on grass court. (sometimes on hard, on clay, not too often). On grass court its objective of all the players to get the ball. its like if u don’t get our physical coach will not be so happy, heheh. What u r going to do if u break the racket. Throw it to the bin? Our academy doesnot ehehe. Coaches cut just the head of the racket. And we have one interesting exercise. They put balls on sticks. And when u r coming to the ball u must hit with this broken racket to the ball. And ball must pass inside this racket. If donot, u break the stick and a ball will fly to China.

JC Ferrero always does exercises in the gym with his coach (Martial arts, coordination (I saw the last time he did it on clay) and even dancing). To be ready for Wimbledon, he practices on real grass. The Academy makes it for him on football field. Real grass court. Oh, u should have seen players’ faces: NNNNOOOO, grass my favourite grass. How are we going to play football? Last year I remember he played with Tomislav Percia on it. He has really huge serve. Yes, Spain is famous for clay. But we have all type of courts: clay, hard, grass. In the gym we always do exercises with weight and sometimes u can work on your stroke with wood sword like the last samurai, hehe. The most difficult time in physical training starts from September, I think. When u run to the mountains, ohhhh yeah its amazing. And u started to talk to yourself trying to calm down, everything will be ok, everything will be ok.

Do you know that Pedro practiced all his life in the Academy with JC Ferrero, José Ezequiel and Santiago Ventura. He was Ferrero's partner in doubles many times and he with Ferrero won Spanish Championship. He has gone a lot of times to the ATP tournaments with Toni and Ferrero. Soon he will tell us about his experience at the academy. But that is the other story not for today.

Summer Stage is a made dream reality!!!

-Hi Javier. How are you? Glad to see you here. What was the reason to come now, the summer stage has not started yet?
-We have already started to prepare the Summer Stage because many players are going to visit us and though the program is very professional, it is always possible to improve.
-I’d love to remind you that Javier is our Summer Stage Director. Tell us about yourself. Do you play tennis? How long do you work here? What are your duties?
-I came to this place when there were only two clay courts and an old house of field. I passed five years as competition player in this house that little by little was turning into Academy and that today in day is considered as one of the best of the world. Since then, I have not stopped collaborating, specially in the Summer Stage.
-I know, you are a student at the moment, what do you study?
-In the years that I was a player I never left my studies. In the same way as now I am doing Law and make compatible it with my functions in the Academy. Every player should study up to where he could, because in tennis it never known what can happen.
-You know, before to send a child to the summer stage, parents have a lot of questions, the main of them, I would like to ask you. What is the summer stage in JC Ferrero Tennis Academy?
-Summer Stage is a program in vacation period that offers the opportunity of knows the real essence of professional training to players of the whole world and all kinds of levels. In words of a player of the Stage of last year, "it is a made dream reality".
-Is there transportation to and from the airport?
-Yes, of course. The Academy is able to drive anyone to or from Alicante Airport, the Bus Station in Alicante or the Railway Station in Villena from 10 AM to 6 PM. But if the flight or bus doesn’t arrive or depart during the above periods, the Academy send their own taxis.
-How many hours of tennis and physics are there every day?
-Approximately, 4 hours of tennis and 2 of physical, with the option of the particular classes for whom he wishes them.
-Will a child practice in a group or individual? How many kids are in the group?
-These hours that I have said before they are all in group, of there that exist the particular classes. But, there are maximum 4 players for group and court.
-Who will be working with a child?
- Undoubtedly, coaches of first category with years of experience. Besides a team of physical coaches, physiotherapists, etc.
- Will a child be in an appropriate age-level group?
-Always. The first day we do a few tests to know the level of all players. And in the evening groups are already definite.
- How long has staff been there?
-The team is in the habit of changing a bit every year with the aim to be better. But it is going to be the fourth year consecutive by this generation. Some of them have been professional players before.
-Who will look after the child when he/she is outside the court? Can he/she leave the academy alone?
-Group leaders are the persons responsible for players during their free time after practice and until they go to bed. Their duties consist in organizing activities in groups according to the age and tastes of each player. Their mission is to create a happy atmosphere among the players and to ensure that they enjoy themselves.
- How much will a child improve?
-Very much and not only of tennis, he also will improve in physical, nutrition, companionship, culture, etc. And what is more important, he will live the only experience. Seeing to a world number 1 as Ferrero doing the same things that they inside like out of the court, it will motivate them.

Hey everybody!!!

How r u? everything is cool here. You know, today I’d like to write more about our funny but hard moments.
You know, in our academy all people pass doctor’s control in Alicante. But we can go there anytime, all of a sudden when u are in your room, resting after your practice and your coach came to u room: “Tomorrow u go!” Oh, my god. And u will ask yourself: why? Worry? Its just doctor’s control!!! This week I was that person. It was my turn to go. First of all, they were checking your muscles. After when they checked your arms, they wrote lots of papers and compared yours with Rafael Nadal eheh . Their looks said to u, no man u need work alittle bit more! Ok! RUNNING MASHINE. Oh, when they put on u many cables and the mask, U looked like Alien. It looked like 2nd part of Alien vs Predator (if some producers read our blog, u can send your invitation to us to make 2nd part. I will ask some guys.) Ok, u put everything on and u saw on the screen how your heart was working and 1.2.3. RUN. When I started to run, it was so uncomfortable for me to run with all these cables and mask. I breathed like Armstrong when he did first step on the moon. But I was laughing sometimes when I looked on our coach and my 2 friends. They were making bets how long I could run. I was like oooook thanks for good support guys after when I finish we will talk about my price. 7 min… it was not so difficult, but after 9 I was thinking hmmm this machine’s started to run faster. On my back doctors put big rope to support me. I was thinking if I will fall, it will help me or not. It looked more dangerous running with this rope. After 10 min doctors stood near me, I was thinking, great. They were going to catch me. 11. 30 I stopped but some older guys did 12 but its ok. Record was 15 min but that person was not tennis player….. He was a marathoner. After they checked your pulse, if u were still alive or no and sent you back home.

Soon I’m going to put some new things about our academy. And I will put some interviews with Javier, Jose Ezequel and etc. And Javier, don’t forget yeah! U know what I m talking about man. Wait for u!

JC Ferrero is in Argentina now with our doctor. I wish him goodluck and please can u send our doc back, we need him. Thanks. Garcia Lopez is in academy now, he is alittle bit ill. But he practices everyday with his coach with other players.

Hey everybody!!!

Sunday? Sunday!!! and I continue our blog. Everybody is resting now and getting ready for the next week.
And first of all I would like to write more about nation final. Yesterday at 12 o’clock in the morning I went with some guys to watch final, because our player Goran was in game. It was pretty sunny day, we went with our coach Israel. It took us 40 min to get there. It was pretty tennis club with courts, of course. We had fun with guys. Goran came to the court for warm up and then he started his match against one Spanish guy (sorry, dont ask me to say his name. Don’t know). The Match started, we were working as his support team during the whole match: Come on! Come on! Goran!!..... and final 2nd set and final ball Goran went to the net, drop shot. WIN GAME, SET and MATCH. After this ball Goran screamed MAESTRO hmmmmmmmm I don’t know why?? I will ask him after and then he threw ball out of the court like on Grand slam match. Yeah, I think he practiced this before, because IT was so professional. 6 1 6 2 Congratulation GORAN for so difficult match! And then BIG CUP (in photo) the same size like in US OPEN. So heavy, seriously, you know, we like cups so much. We came back to our favourite and lovely academy with loud music and proud. Thanks Benedict (PAPA 16) ehehe. Salute!!! Man! Photos with me!!!!

My congratulations to JC Ferrero in Brazil. He lost in final but he showed the good fight. Our professional players are coming to the academy. I think, Ferrero is going to ATP of Buenos Aires. I wish him goodluck!!!

Happy Birthday to Jose Ezequel! He is my good friend and the great coach. Thanks him for everything I wish him goodluck. Later I will put the interview with him. Do you know that Jose is really good player before he was 400 in ATP. Jose Ezequel is still our professional tennis player.

And later wait for interview with Javier Viguera. He will tell us more about summer stage. (I had too much questions for him, so I was afraid we could not put them all in comments. he he).

How r u??? Thanks for your wishes to JC Ferrero. I join to them, too. JC Ferrero is in Brazil now and I wish him goodluck and to Garcia Lopez (Garcia is in America). Toni Peric is going to play ATP tournament in America. In our academy so many English kids have just come for one week. Thanks for choosing our academy, But I have one more important thing. Hey everybody!!!

Today I am with u here. JC Ferrero went to play tournaments in Brazil and Argentina yesterday.How I knew about that... ehhehe.... he took our doctor Victor with him. We are without our doc at the moment! But everything is going great in our academy. I think, Ferrero is in good form now and he can show a good result. Everything depends on him, we believe in him. Its so rainy here sometimes. Here, from professional players, Marta just practices and other players: Garcia and Ferrero went to play tournaments. Sometimes Almagro came for practicing with JC Ferrero. It was good and so exciting. Today everybody went to Alicante- shopping, because it was rainy afternoon, and no way to play tennis outside.
It was one funny thing here in academy, I'd like to tell u. Well, I was punished with some guys, because every morning we were late for school. So, for our teacher, that morning was enough, we spent the afternoon collecting tennis balls around the academy, and then alittle bit gardening. It was pretty funny, but after that punishment, we get up at 8 o clock every morning. So be careful in our academy.

And don’t be late!!! HEHEH

Summer Stage!!!!

Hey everybody!!!

Today I would like to write about Summer Stage. Summer is coming soon. There are so many people coming on Summer Stage. I remember, when I came to the Summer stage in 2005 it was so funny, It’s a good chance for people to see our academy and maybe you can change your mind to be a tennis player or you would like to go to completion programme (to be with us). I decided to spend my summer in Spain, so I came to the JC Ferrero tennis academy. It was really fun when I arrived at night (2 a.m.) in Alicante airport, I was thinking :”Who is going to meet me? Will they meet me? I was late for 4 hours!!!” When I passed passport control, I saw 2 guys in t-shirts with Equelite JC Ferrero on them. They were like walking advertisement Boarding. It was really funny, I was with THE HUGE baggage (I came for 3 months). And I asked them: Hey guys, can you help me with my bag, but (they spoke English alittle) ….Jesus!!! Then we came to the academy, I was in shock when I saw my room (a small house with 2 beds, TV, wardrobes) It was really cold at night. And I was like, ok, my room is great. And these 2 guys (coaches) said: “You will get your key tomorrow!” I was like: what? Ok, such a funny joke, guys, where is my key? -Tomorrow. Then I went to sleep and somebody was running outside, the door was open…. From Monday I started to practice, it was hot summer. I was so glad when I saw Garcia Lopez, JC Ferrero. And during 3 months I tried to do my best to show my work and my progress, because I wanted to stay at this academy. The academy really show me that tennis is such a great thing, and tennis is my life. But summer was really fun. First, I lived alone, then another guy came to my room. Usually there are 2 guys in 1 room. Oh, I found my timetable (it was in my report)!

Every Sunday we went somewhere to have fun and to know what Spain looks like. But I didn’t visit other places so much. And there were parties every 2 weeks, when some people left and other were coming. Thanks Javier for everything. Javier is our Summer Stages Director. Hey JAVIER!!!!!!!!!!!! WHATS UP MAN???? I know u read our blog please put some comments, heheh, for me. Cya later JAVIER!!! You are the man.

Hey everybody!!!

Here is so rainy, we just play indoor and go to do physical to the stadium. JC Ferrero is playing football with us. And getting ready to play the tournament in Brazil on clay, Garcia -on hard courts. And Domachowska Marta is getting ready to play tournaments from next week. I wish them good luck!!!!

As for us, we are practicing and concentrating on this year. The year has just begun, and we are ready to show our best.

Maria Sharapova lost in Australian open in final, but she is №1 this year. We are so happy that she choose our academy and sometimes comes here. Maybe she will come to practice here before Rolland Garros like last year.

All our top 100 players work so hard on physic. We hope JC Ferrero will show his best game. When he played in Australian open, he showed his good game, his opponent played relax with our any worries (because he played with the winner of Rolland Garros). Garcia Lopez showed the good fight vs Ancic. But Garcia is growing up and progressing so much. He shows the good game with sparing partner and his coach Salva. And that’s it, guys.

Dear Friends!

The year nearly finishes, and soon all your academy will go on holidays and will celebrate Christmas and New Year at home with their family and friends. We all will have a good rest and come back fresh and ready to work more hard the next year.
The year was good to all of us. Our academy work a lot, we went on tournaments, got experience, worked in gym a lot, had a running season, watched some masters alive, supported our players, had lovely Christmas dinner. The most important thing is that we play tennis. We worked so hard!!! And we had fan! We cann't imagine our life without tennis. Its part of us, the love/hate relationship. Its what we live for. We live for the practices, parties, cheers, long bus rides, invitationals, countless pairs of different types of shoes, water, rackets, & coaches you hate but appreciate. We live for the way it feels when we beat the other players, and knowing those two extra sprints we ran in practice were worth it. We live for the way we become a family with our academy, we live for the countless songs we sing in our head while training all those hours. We live for the competition, we live for the friends, fans, the practices, the memories, the pain, its who we are. It's who we are.
Ok guys, we are going on holidays. See u next year.Best wishes to everybody, next year will be more difficult, more exiting, more interesting for us and top 100 atp players. Best wishes for them, for JC Ferrero and Garcia Lopez. Watch tennis, enjoy your life!!!!

I didn’t forget about the questions for Juan Carlos! Thanks a lot for all questions, there were nice and lots. It was great to know that u look after Juan Carlos’s life and have questions for him. About tennis:
Laurie: How do you prepare yourself mentally before a game? i do have an other question which looks a little bit like the first one about the mental part of tennis. most of the time i lose my own tennis matches not because the opponent is to strong but that i make mentally a mistake. Do you have an advise for me to become mentally stronger?
JC: I think about my game, what me and my coach think I should do, and do my routines such as: checking the grips of my rackets, the strings, my drinks etc. basic stuff.
Watch many games and try to learn more of the game. Give 100% every training session. Soon you will be able to pass it on to the competition. Keep working.
Friend: what happened with your head fxp racket? why did you change it?
JC: I changed because I feel more comfortable with this one.
Maïlys: What is the tournament you'd like to win now ?
JC: I feel strong for Australia. Let’s see what happens.
Bea: This year your change all your ‘staff technique’ ( I see it at Roland Garros) Can you describe new persons with you and your work with them? And what’s the difference between them and Antonio and the others?
JC: Jose Perlas (coach), Javier Capitaine (physical), and Toni, that has a very important roll in my career. We know Perlas for a long time and we have followed his work, and because Toni needed more time for him and for his business, we decided to invite him to help me. Its working fine!
Bea: You are a great player, you have a great palmares ( Grand Slam, 11 titles, many great match ( against Gonzalez at Roland Garros, final in masters, against agassi in Us Open, against Nadal and Blake this year) you are the only spanish player to win two Coupe Davis !!! ) so you are 26 years until 12/02/07 , and now, :has the tennis the same importance for you as before in your life? how see you your future in the tennis ? JC: Yes, it has the same importance as before. I still have a lot of ambition and goals to achieve. My future, I will continue working hard, try to improve my game and hopefully win more tournaments. Thank you.

Ernsta: When do you plan to marry? There is hearsay said that you are going to be a father, is that true?
JC: No, its not true, right now I am focused on my career.
Ernsta: When you were at school, which subject do you like best and which subject are you good at? What kinds of books do you like? What kinds of video games do you like? City and village which do you like to live in?
JC: I did not like math, but I was pretty good at the other subjects. I like football games, cars and motorbikes. Right now its in the academy where I have all conditions to achieve my goals.

Caroline: Well, as I'm a huge fan of Juanqui, just wanted to tell that he GOTTA know his true fans are still here and we'll never give up beeing behind him, I think he can come back again on the top, he just need to be more confident and trust in his abilities !!!!! What would you say to fans who are trusting you, and to these who are worry about your career??
JC: I would like to thank their support that has been amazing. I am confident that I will be back on top soon and I am counting with their support. They truly have a great part on my life. They have supported me in my good moments and in my not so good moments, and that I cannot forget.
Juanqui Lover: Do you pay attention to your supporters in the crowd while you are playing a match? Do you try to block them out, or do they help to motivate you to win the match?
JC: I try to block them out. Its hard sometimes but I normally manage. I have to be 100% focused to win. There have been some matches that the fans have carried me in such way that I managed to pull it off. Thank to them for that.

Christmas Dinner!!!

Hey!!!!!

Last night we had the Christmas dinner!!!!! Want to know more???Yesterday at 20 30 we went to the restaurant in Villena to have dinner. We did not stay at the academy because it was no fair that people from our restaurant could not have fun with us. So we all had fun!!! Yeah, it was great everybody looked good, new players started to learn their speech in Spanish for the dinner. Ok......... we came to this restaurant where it was near 110 people of our academy(players, coaches and friends): Juan Carlos, Garcia Lopez, Fyrstenberg, Matkowski,(polish double players top 8 in the world), Marta Domachowska( top 100 WTA ) ….. Yeah good dinner with great players. When we’d finished our meal, Samuel and Juan Carlos started ‘Tennis award 2006’:
1.The best profession tennis player ( i think its like this heheh) -Tomislav Peric.
2. Player Of the Year (boys)- Alen.
3. The best player (girls) -Titta.
4. The most improved tennis player of the year -Kirill (its me hehehe )
5. The coach of the year – Israel.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
SPEECH, the dinner is nothing without good speech. Who was talking? 20 lucky people: New players (they were afraid to do it the first time. You should have seen their shaken hands, papers with speech, they asked all the time when??? me??? And happy faces when they they told all the academy THANKS!!! The first time is always like this.) coaches, old players, friends….. It was pretty funny.... Garcia and Israel were leaders. All speeches were great!!! Great to have fun together after the long hard year. This year was good for all of us! Thanks for the great dinner!!!

Funny weekend with bulls!!

Hey!!!

Sorry I did not write our blog for along time. But I'm still with u, guys. And I'd like to write about something what happened here. December started and this weekend Juan Carlos Ferrero with guys went to...hmmmmmmm ...corrida I think, but people have fun with bulls. Its such a dangerous trip, when u haveto run 3 hours and be ready to meet with a bull. If u don’t know what a bull looks like I will explain to u ….A Bull is a big strong cow with horns and what I heard from guys, they are so clever. They know who JC Ferrero is, I think, firstly,they get object , wait and try to destroy. U see on these photos how JC with our players climbed on the door out of this bull. The Bull was tring to get them but no way, hopefully. Yeah, be with us, its so exciting in the academy.

And I more news: RUSSIA WON DAVIS CUP. ДАВАЙ РОССИЯ. Good year for Russia!!!

Hey everybody….. I m still here with you. Today I just would like to write alittle about things in our academy. First of all, today JC Ferrero has started to work on his tennis and physics. I think he will show everything next year. Maybe he will be in top 10, who knows???? And Think about questions for JC Ferrero, u have so many days to think, but be active. Garcia Lopez works hard everyday. I think next year he will higher his ranking.
Its coming the New Year and Christmas. In December its going to be one party here. I m going to take more photos about that day and tell u what is going on there. Its very peaceful life here at the moment, everybody practices, enjoys physical training=)(which is so hard, but we give 100%!!!!) and is having fun.

The Wind is nothing for us!

Hello from academy!!! Today in windy Spain I'd love to write about just some things. In our academy everything is the same: life goes on here. A lot of people are tired so much. But we still continue to do our physical training and tennis. But its so difficult to run if u don’t feel your legs. If Federer did the same he is the hero!!!!
Wind is so strong here now. I think for wind surfing academy is perfect. But I have not seen any in my life. But for tennis is perfect, too, when you hit the ball out of the academy, and... its coming back to the court:)) Juan Carlos came back from holidays from Brazil some days ago. I think it was good. Sorry that I did not write blog yesterday, because my fingers were frozen after that cold wind, when u hold your racket 1 hour 30 min, u don’t feel it. And it is so funny when u come into the gym and all guys "why we chose tennis???????? Why not bowling or billiard??" Yeah, guys, it is just tennis love and very positive.

Hey everybody!!!

Today is a new Monday. To be honest, it was such a difficult day. Strong physical training!!!! We’ve just done so many things. I think with that physical training we can be №1. Today was the running day, sprints- in the morning and in the afternoon 30 min fast sprints in the gym. We have that physical training from November till January, something like this. But some days we ran big distances to the mountains and come back with fast sprints. And we do test of our pulses before and during our running. Yeah, sport life is so difficult, but interesting. Later I will put some photos of our work. U will see the factory of tennis players =) December is coming. Yeah, the New Year…. we all will have holidays, when everybody will go home to their family. But don’t forget about one tournament “Davis Cup RUSSIA VS ARGENTINA”. I am waiting for this great final. Come on Russia!!!

Hey everybody!!!

Its getting colder in Spain, but I' m from Russia, cold is nothing for me, so I'm still with u, guys!!! Today early in the morning everybody went to watch Championship of Spain. It took 1 30 or 2 hours to get to Valencia. It was so difficult, I was just sitting and listening IPOD. When we arrived, it was so windy and cold. The first match, which we started to watch, was Garcia vs Navarro. Our player made so many mistakes. Garcia lost in this match because he had problems with his eyes. He did operation on his eyes, so he needed time to recover. After match he told that after 30 min he could not see anything at all. We started to watch other matches. I saw some players from top 100 ATP, for example, Ramiraz Hidalgo, Almagro, David Ferrer and etc. We watched some matches of our players.(Burniol and Jose de Luna used to practice in our academy). Jose won his macth vs 35 years old guy. But it was pretty difficult. I did not see Burniol's match, but guys told me that he won. Other matches were pretty nice. Players just passed the ball in point 20 times maybe more. Around 3 o' clock we came back to our academy. Just to finish our practice, It was a great day, it is good when we have a chance to go on tournaments, not as a player, just to watch matches and look at our tennis from another side.

- Hey, Connor!!! How r u? From the last week it is so pretty difficult physical training, yea? Today it was the amazing match Blake vs Davydenko, yea?
- Yeah, I had a good holiday…. I played 3 or four hours every day but I didn’t do any physical work, yeah, the training here is pretty tough and intense especially fart. Let’s talk about the match, well I thought that if Blake played his best tennis, he would win, it depended on his level because Davydenko is such a consistent player and if you don’t produce something special he will grind you down.
- Who’s your idol in top 8 ? What player do u prefer to win?
-Well, I guess, that this is an easy question probably for everyone in the academy, it has to be FEDERER, no denying that he is the best player at the moment!
- I heard that u r leaving us…
-Yes, I’m going to America. I have to go back to my country to sort a visa and passport out and then I will be in Florida in January, I’m leaving the academy around the 26/27 of November.
- And your plans in future?
-Once I have got into a rhythm in America, I will start to play some tournaments there, and hopefully get my first ATP points.
- Ok tell us about yourself.
-Ok, My name is Connor Ishtvan Schelling-Tisza…I am 16 years old 6ft 2 I have two brothers. I was born in Switzerland, and live in Northern Ireland.
- When did you start to play tennis? And why?
-I started playing tennis when I was 10 but this was not properly, only at my school, then when I was twelve I had my first tennis lesson and really liked it, I wanted to get the lesson so I could beat my friend, I picked it up quickly and couldn’t put the racket down!
- What does tennis mean for u?
-It’s my life and the most important thing, except family!
-Tell us how did u get at this academy? How long have u been here? What do u think about academy?
-I finished school and got all top marks so my parents said that they would let me try tennis and if I don’t succeed I can always go back to study, it’s a great academy and I’ve made a lot of friends here who I will definitely keep in touch with, we train hard and still have fun!
- The year nearly finishes, what do u think about this year? Your results? Did you play any tournaments??
-I’ve had a great time at the academy so far, I think some of the guys have had some great results like Tommy and James, but I haven’t yet played a futures in Spain so, no results, I played on national tournament and lost in the second round of qualifying
-And the last thing what I would like to ask u, your Tennis Tips for guys who read our blog or If u want u can leave your message for JC Ferrero.
-Tips… just work as hard as you can day in day out and you will succeed, strong mind and strong body, keep dreaming …. And just a message for Ferrero, if times are tough just remember what you did in the past to succeed! AND KEEP SMILING!

Hi!!!!!!!!! It’s me again.

First of all, I’d like to say that yesterday Masters of Shangai started. Federer vs Nalbandian and Roddick bit Ljubicic won as usual. Today all Spanish players lost 1st round Nadal vs Blake and Tommy lost against Davydenko. All our academy thinks and talks about this tournament. Everybody thinks Federer and Blake are going to show the best matches in other days.

Here everything is the same. We’ve just started to run to the mountains, lots of physical exercises.

I know that lots of JC Ferrero’s fans read the blog, so till the 15 of December you can leave questions in comments here for Juan Carlos. And he will answer in the interview in December!!!

Hey everybody!!!

All tournaments finished, everybody just works in the gym and plays tennis. U know that in Madrid has started "Masters of WTA". Yesterday all girls from our academy went to watch Maria Sharapova. We went to get experience last time, now it was their turn. Maria showed everyone that she is ready to show her best tennis and prove the title. She won her matches. Respect, Maria! They said it was amazing. I think she will play in final. They've changed the court of the stadium now (I don’t know why???) its green.

Next week the tournament in Shangai will start. I wish, it is going to be interesting. Oh, u see, the both tournaments are good examples of “Round Robin” in practice.

The last thing -about food! We eat special food here =) Spagetti, paela, rice, chicken nad,meat etc. But we can't eat lots of sweets and drink cola, just juice:) Sure, the academy cant be sponsorized by McDonald's! That wouldn't be good for us!!! Just a proper food for superplayers!!!

Football match "Murcia Club vs Our Academy"!!!

Hey, everybody!!!

Yesterday was a very interesting day. Players from club in Murcia have come to our academy to play a football match (so strange yea? in tennis academy). I saw some good players, who tried to get first ATP points, and their main player was Almagro. Our team was coaches, Ferrero and Garcia Lopez, and one more player,(who'd practiced here,when he was 17- 18. Who was it??? )David Ferrer…. I did not see the whole match because I had tennis, But it was really good. In final our academy won 8- 5. Everybody was so happy. I want to say one thing, Almagro is very crazy guy. He swears amazing!! That’s all guys. You’re the best!!! Thanks for your comments.

Weekend in the fog!!!

Hi, everybody!!!
Of course I’ m going to continue my blog during our break because it’s me! If I’ve created it, I’ m going to do it till all bottons on my computer will be broken.
I forgot to tell you the whole story about jokes with guys and JC Ferrero’s house. Well, they started to push the botton of the ring near the gates of Ferrero’s house. And Toni was with JC. And he warned if they pushed the botton again, they would have problems. No way, push, push… Toni was coming himself. Guys ran away to their rooms. But that was no use, the coach of Juan Carlos knows everything!!! Toni with his army of coaches had come and started to knock at the doors: “We know, It was u!!! OPEN THE DOOR!!! - No I don’t want to open. –Ok, if u don’t, tomorrow u are going to run 2 hours, 3 hours ….. – OK, OK, I WILL OPEN (3 hours is quite enough). That night they started to run around the swimming pool!
Yesterday was cloudy. Samuel told us: "Ok, guys, we are going to the mountains!!!" I was thinking, oh my god, we were going to run!!!!!!! Oh my god!!!! But it was kind of relaxation - walking. It was a very long walk. On the top of the mountain we started to scream, something like that: I’ M GOD OF THE MOUNTAIN and etc In final when we came back to our cars, we noticed that we'd lost 1 coach with 2 teenagers. And we started to swear, where Lucho (coach) was and how it was possible to lose the way, when we were walking back all together. It took 30 minutes to find them and hopefully we went back to our academy.
Ok, guys, now we know, who is going to the Shaigai: Federer, Blake, Nadal, Robredo, Nalbandian, Ljubicic, Davydenko, Roddick. Everybody was thinking, Robredo would never go!!! But u see, he is in top 8. Tennis is a strange thing. Now the most interesting is who will be in finall: Federer and Nadal??? Or it will be another players???

- Ok, My name is Antoine. I am 16. I was born in Belgium, and live in Belgium.
- When did you start to play tennis?
- I started tennis when I was 8 years old
- Why tennis? (no hockey, golf, swimming)
- because I like tennis and I love it very much.
- What does tennis mean for u?

- Describe your tennis, please!
- In this academy I progress a lot in my style of tennis. I started to put more inside. I changed my technical. And now on the court I feel so much better. I hope I will be continuing like this.
-Tell us, how did u get to this academy? How long have u been here? What do you think about the academy? What did the academy give to you?
-I went here in summer stage last year. And it was so good. Because I had good tennis training and physic and this academy is so serious. I m here 10 month. Everything is good yeah I m so happy. Academy gave me enjoy.
- If you have a chance to change anything at the academy, what would it be??
-The food and I want room bigger. And play more tennis.
- Call me, 1 thing which you like most of all at the academy
-I like so much my coach. And now we are good friends. Tennis training with him its perfect.

Hey, again!!

Hmm, we don’t have so many news. All tournaments have finished at last, winter is coming. Half of the players have holidays. But they still play tennis for fun. For example, 2 players (Alen and Goran) were playing the match. The Loser will pay for dinner. Well done, Alen! He has just won free dinner:)). Its so cold today! JC Ferrero , coaches and other players played football. In final, we have a lot of tired people and alittle injured. Football is very popular here, no matter if players watch it or play!!! Its alittle bit football academy, dont u think so???=)

In Masters of France so many players from top 10 don’t play.I think, they took alittle break for Shangai. Looking at our poll resolts, u think that Tommy Robredo will not enter in to the draw of Shangai. Well, who knows:)) Matkowski and Fyrstenberg doubles players, who practice in our academy time to time, they are showing a good result in Masters of France.

Today I need a rest, too. Ps2 is waiting for me. No football, just only tennis:))))

Robin round??? Hmmm, good chance to win tournaments!!!

Hey guys!!!

Today is an amazing day for Blog. Yesterday some people asked me about new rules called “Round Robin”. Today I’ve talked to JC Ferrero, Samuel Lopez (technical director) and our commercial director about it.

Let’s start from the beginning, what it is Round Robin??? Round robin—where players are placed into groups or pools, and the top player in each group then moves on to the knockout phase of the tournament—increases spectators’ chances of seeing their favorite stars, as one loss in a round-robin pool does not automatically eliminate a player, and also improves scheduling for broadcasters and tournament promotion. Round robin has been a staple of the Tennis Masters Cup circuit finale and ARAG ATP World Team Championship but not utilized at any other ATP tournament. The 13 tournaments chosen subject to final approval by the ATP will be held on different surfaces in different countries throughout the 2007 season, starting the first week in Adelaide, Australia.

Yeah, its from atp news. I see they chose 13 tournaments. Yesterday when we talked over it, we were thinking alittle....well, its good idea for the public and players, because u have got a chance; Chance to win!!! But maximum draw can be a 48-player round robin draw consisting of 16 groups of 3 players. What will be if all 3 players got 1 point? So, in this situation they will look how many sets and games everybody played, the most easy one- NEXT ROUND!!!

OK, today I was talking to JC Ferrero. He said: “For public, it’s very good because they can watch their favorite tennis players. And for Federer, it’s amazing because for him its perfect. After these rules nobody will bit him in first rounds.” What people think in our academy about it…For example, people bought tickets to watch Safin. And he is losing in first round, so after these rules he can play again and for public it’s perfect. Samuel told me: “Its good for new players. Now everybody has got BIG CHANCE to win”. I think, its good, too. Later, I'm sure, this Robin round will be improved. Every player in this academy thinks the same. But it’s more difficult because have a look, u get the wild card and u r in the group with Federer and Roddick on crass=).

Today was a good hot day in Spain, JC Ferrero and Garcia Lopez played ps2 Pro evolution soccer with other players. Here is one photo.

Our Day!!!

Hey guys!!!
I guess, u need to know more about our day, not to think that our life is so easy here.

8:30 WAKE UP. TODAY IS A NEW DAY!!!!
Everyday (except Sunday) we get up 8:30, but some kids who cant wake up so early, open their eyes at 9:30 a.m. Then we go to have breakfast. But we have to go to school (half in the morning- half in the evening). So my classes are in the morning. I usually get up at 8: 20 a.m. After classes, we have tennis or physical training. Some people, who have no classes in the morning, run at 10 a.m., just to warm up.

10:00 a.m.WORK HARD!!!
Yeah, our life is busy from the morning till night. After all, we have physical training with our coach (Dario) or we play tennis with your coaches and groups. During the morning physical training, we do coordination. For example, exercises…well, tennis balls and rackets- we need to run as faster as we can to do good stroke with good coordination. Or Running!!!! Ohhhhhhhh, its so difficult. I remember last year we ran the big distance with sprints far a way from the academy to the mountains. We do so many different exercises on the court and out. As for tennis, we always play basket at the morning or do exercises with our partners. We practise on hard, clay or grass courts, depends on tournaments. Between physical training and tennis we have a break, where we can have a snack before to go to “the war”.

2:00 p.m. LUNCH TIME
Have finished? So, we can go to our rooms, take a shower, have lunch and just relax. At our academy food is GREAT. Hmm, what about our rooms…. We have internet (its not so fast but its ok), TV and one bed… But most players put posters, bring ps2 and other many things to make their room more comfortable. U see, we live here more then 1 week or month. We have just single rooms (house), but there are double rooms, as well.

4:00-4:30 p.m. WORK HARDER!!!
We have tennis and physical training. Physical training is in the gym. Sometimes we play football matches. Juan Carlos Ferrero loves football so much, like Garcia Lopez. Players vs Coaches. It looks pretty interesting how the ball without control goes outtttttt. Run, Ball, Run!!! Ok, continue our day. After physical we have tennis where we are playing points.

08:00 p.m. DINNER!!!!!
Shower, dinner and rest!!! Some people spend evenings in our TV room, watching movies or they use internet, for example, Toni (the coach of JC Ferrero) plays paddle with players. It looks good. Toni is a big fan of this sport, I think. What about me, at the moment I am in my room and writing my blog.

Hey everybody !!!

Today was a good sunny day. Everybody is waiting for tomorrow. I think all tennis fans know why? Because Garcia Lopez is going to play vs Roger Federer. Today I talked to Samuel Lopez, and he told that Garcia got alittle ingured with his wrist. But we hope, that the match is going to be good. Juan Carlos Ferrero took a rest. He will not play tennis, I think, until January, because he did not take a big rest during this year, and he will try to find his best tennis after these holidays.

That’s all. And I would like to say: Coaches, I'm sorry, that I don’t write so much about WTA tennis:))) I will try to write more and look results of the girls.

Hey everybody!!!! I'm still here with u, guys.

First of all I'd like to say…..Masters serias Madrid has finished. Roger Federer won the tournament. Yeah this guy is the legend. This tournament was perfect, but it was 1 big minus- People,who came to watch…. U know, when I watched, for example, Juan Carlos, one guy from V I P started to swear at Ferrero. I know all people have got their own opinions. Everybody must respect everyone. Ferrero played with a strong guy, but people came to watch tennis, not to humiliate players. When Berdychh won Nadal, it was the same story; in the final match when all people started to scream like: Why u won???? And everybody must understand, that all ATP players are fighters. And the same with girls from WTA.
Ok, about our academy. Here is everything the same. The weather changes everytime. Its getting alittle cooler. All guys, who played futures….Well, somebody did not enter or lost in 1st round of qualy,someone is still fighting. James and Tommy, I think, they are going to play 1 challenger. Goodluck guys. Maybe, u will be in final, who knows????
And i know just only one news from WTA: Maria Sharapova won the tournament in Zurich. Well done Maria! U r the best!!! Goodluck!!!

It was a pretty funny night, because near 23 oo pm Toni (the coach of Ferrero) sent some of the players to the swimming pool for doing lobs, because they had made a joke near Ferrero's house. Details on Sunday.

Hey everybody!!!

Today I'm so happy to continue to write our equelite's blog. Yesterday I was in Masters Serias in Madrid. It was great. Ok lets talk about this more.....
Yesterday Juan Carlos Ferrero started his 2nd round match in Madrid. Me, some of my friends and coach went to Madrid by minibus. It took us near 4 hours 40 min to get to Madrid. Anyway, everybody was happy: WE ARE GOING TO MADRID. But in the middle of our trip everybody was tired. And music was rock and techno. Ok, we were in Madrid. But 1 problem we did not know how to get there. The player Bachi, who was with us, lives in Madrid. But he didnot know where this stadium was, it was like this: Ok...........Go to the left NONONONO wait Right Right or LEFT? Then We started to ask people:" Excuse us. Do u know where "Masters Serias" is??? People looked like....What r u talking about??? And I said to guys better ask them where Roger Federer was. BUT we found the stadium. We went inside and got to the match Andy Murray and Ivan Ljubicic. This Match was pretty interesting. Murray has not got the big power or huge serve. He plays more tactical and arranges his game. Andy doesnot give 1 rhythm. Everytime he changes his game. His coach is Gilbert. I read his many books, when he was in pro-tennis, he played tennis with the same style like Murray. What about Ivan Ljubicic... He has huge serve and good strokes. But when I watched this match from the stadium, I found that he played with more mistakes. But Murray was amazing. In Final 3rd set Andy Murray won.
Then me and my friend Maxim went to watch warm(ing)-up matches. We saw Rafael Nadal, who played with Spadea. People was so crazy because when Rafael Nadal finished the training, all people started to attack him: PLEASE RAFA GIVE ME JUST 1 AUTOGRAPH!!! Nadal was very intelligent, he gave as much autograph as he could, and he ran away. After we watched other courts, where Jarkko Nieminen, Max Mirny, Marat Safin with his coach played. And after I took 1 photo with Spadea.

Then we went to the court number 1 to watch Gasquet and Djokovic. It was very interesting match. The French player played very good but Djokovic attacked more and did not make so many mistakes. Final score in 3rd set 61 .

The match has started which we were waiting for. It was Juan Carlos Ferrero vs Robin Soderling.I remember some years ago, when I saw Robin, for me he played very interesting tennis. It was Kremlin cup. Soderling was just running and he passed so many balls. His serve was not so strong like right now. I said, Robin Soderling would be a good player. Nobody believed me. And now look at him, he was in semifinal of Stockolm... When I started to watch this match, Ferrero had just defended and Soderling attacked like the beast!!! His serve was amazing, Ferrero put so many balls in the middle. Robin just attacked. We were screaming: COME ON FERRERO!!! But Ferrero lost in second set. Ferrero was good!!

Now for all players its difficult to play, everytime the level of tennis is getting higher.

Ok, like everytime lets start news from Tennis world.

News From ATP: In Madrid the tournament "Masters Serias" has just started . Last year Rafael Nadal won this tournament. But this year maybe it will be another champion...............Who knows???

A little bit history. It was only three years ago, in October of 2002, when for the first time in Spain one of the largest tournaments of the ATP international circuit was celebrated. The RockÃ³dromo became the Central Court of the eighth ATP Masters Series of the season.

I remember Juan Carlos Ferrero, Andre Agassi, Marat Safin and other many players showed this world so many amazing matches. I think for all players of this tournament is very important to be in final of the year.

2 players from our academy are playing this tournament. One of them, Garcia Lopez, he lost in qualy. Next year I think Garcia will show good result. Tomorrow Juan Carlos is going to play with Soderling. Come on Juan Carlos!!! We believe in you!!!!

News from WTA: To be honest, I have not got any news from WTA tournaments. I know that Maria Sharapova will come to our academy to practise before tournament in Madrid.

Here all players are working hard. They are going to play very good tournaments like: National, Futures, Challengers and ATP tournaments. I wish goodluck!!!

Hey everybody!!!

Nice to continue to create the blog again. Today is such a sunny day in spain. Everybody is resting, they play computer, listen to music. And me........ i m writing the equelite's blog. Ok guys. Let's start!!!
A little bit news from ATP: Yesterday in semifinal James Ward and Tommy Peric lost. But I'd like to say 1 thing: "Guys, you are the best, continue like this! James is the amazing fighter.He passed the qualy and came to the semifinal. Tommy, your serve is strong as usual. Continue to be like that. Ok, guys, goodluck in next future's!!!

Now I'd like to write about our weekend. Its our favourite part of any week. Sunday!! everybody gets up at 11 o clock. Everybody turns on the music. And our academy starts to be like a disco academy. Some kids start to play computer early in the morning. For example, David and Benedikt are on the photo. There are hockey gamers. Near 11 40 they start to play. If u r in my room u can hear:" YEA YEA GOAL COME ON!! DETROIT!!!!"
Yeah, guys, our life is so exciting. Some people are sitting in TV room, they read newspapers, watch
tv or explore internet.
When we are going out, we just have fun! We go to the cinema, supermarkets, eat in restaurants or just enjoy our life.

Thax everyone for everything. Today my friends have put on papers "BLOG US KIRILL". Ok, guys, i will put u in my blog!!! After that photo(which one u can see in the beginning) they jumped in the swimming pool. Conors, Benedict and Nickolas.

This day is pretty nice for us because of the tornament Future. 2 players from our academy are in SEMIFINAL!!!
NEWS FROM ATP: James Ward and Tomislav Peric are in semifinal.

James passed the qualy and now in semifinal. And Tommy after 2 win tournaments now is in semifinal. WELL DONE TOMMY!!! Goodluck you, guys!!!

News FROM WTA: Yesterday Marta Domachowska lost her match against Kostanic 1 6 0 6. What about Maria Sharapova....I heard news that she is injured. And she stopped to play Kremlin cup. She got injured on her tennis training.

Ok, thats all.... In our academy everything is ok. Everybody is training, someone breaks rackets. Yeah guys, our life is so exciting!!! Today half of our academy went to Elda to watch cinema, eat in Mcdonalds, have fun. Tomorrow is saturday, from 10 until 2 we are playing tennis then rest. On sunday -BIG DAY, GUYS, because i m going to write the big news with photos, jokes and tournament's score.

Hey everybody!!! Today i continue to write equlite's blog. I will do everything what I can to do this blog very popular and more interesting. About today and about some interesting things and a little bit about last week. Lets start.....

News from ATP: For our academy today was no such a good day. But our best player lost in 1st round of Vienna. Its Juan Carlos Ferrero. I did not see this match. But I believe he did everything as he could. He showed a good fight. But this day was for Melzer. Score 7 5 6 7 3 6. But Come on Juan Carlos. WE BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

News from WTA.: Today in Kremlin Cup Maria Sharapova won her match against Bychkova 64 75. In Bangkok Marta Domachowska won her match against Viratprasert 6 4 6 0. Hmmmm for girls its good week in tournaments. So easy matches. But interesting to see final of this week.

News from ITF and national tournaments: About ITF tournament. I have just only 1 news. Titta Torro, we wish u good luck! About national is nothing special. 8 people played qualy of tournament named Campeonato de tenis.And 1 boy got WC, Anthony Gomez he lost in 1st round in good fight. And just 2 people passed qualy and lost.
